To be fair, I often take the can route, but I have not had growlers from here in a while, so what the hell

Jeez, just saw that McLaddens Hampden is closed and I was planning on celebrating IPA day there after getting some cans later...any other decent places close by? Would rather not head over to Sturbridge

Sounds like today might be busier than a few weeks ago with the 12pp julius limit. If that is the case we might see haze cans sell out today. Crazy!

Big can limits = big crowd. It's the tree house law.

    Yup

PACER (American Pale Ale - 5.8% ABV) - Using a bounty of classic American hops, Pacer is, in a way, a throwback American Pale Ale. Centennial, Chinook, Simcoe, Amarillo, and Columbus are copiously utilized to create a vibrant and complex flavor profile. We taste and smell red grapefruit, clementine, pine, and a hint of lemon with a delicate floral component rounding things off. The perfect beer to accompany ever shortening summer days! (750ML - $ 7 | 2L - $14) * Limit three total bottles w/up to 1 2L *

Watching TH's pattern over the last few months, it appears that they're generally scheduling 1 or 2 packaging runs prior to opening on Thursday, and then 1 more packaging run on Saturday before opening, but this doesn't always get canned. Truely awesome that they've ramped up so quickly considering where they were just a year ago.

Anyways, to ensure that "some" cans are available all 3 days that they're open, without risking having to store large amounts Sunday through Wednesday, their limits are set high on Thursday in order to ensure that they'll sell the majority early and be able to adjust the limits down for subsequent days.

What @mike0802 said I feel is the thinking for many people who attend on Thursdays - They want to stock up since it's generally the only time you can walk out of there with more than 6-12 cans pp. If you're ever there early on a Saturday, it's always the same group of locals. Ask them about their beer fridges, and how much TH they've stockpiled... one guy a couple weeks ago talked about finally drinking his last Present Moment for shitsake.

Bottom line, Tree House is making some of the best beer out there, and are canning an unbelievable variety for such a small brewery. Really anything they put in cans is delicious and immediately in high demand, weather for trading purposes, sharing with friends, or personal consumption. I can't really blame anyone for waiting 3 hours (before open) for the beer if that's their prerogative - I'll gladly go later and have zero wait, knowing there's no chance for growler fills. Speaking of fills, the growler line at HF has been known to be hours long and people still wait. At least at TH, if you're top 50 or so in line on a Thursday, you're gonna leave at 5:40pm with 20 cans and 4 or 5 full growlers.

Tree House staff was at full power tonight. Opened at 440, I was 61st, out with 20 cans and 4 growlers at 540. To get through 60+ people for growlers in an hour is phenomenal. Kudos to the crew tonight. Loving Pacer with my dinner!

I got there tonight at 4:45p and they already opened, we were out less than 45 minutes later and were roughly 130 in line. Cans only tonight as I waited last week for growlers. Missed out on J cans, but maxed out the others. Hopefully the higher can limits will continue. No real crazy waits unless you want growlers and then plan accordingly.

130 in line and out in 45 minutes is really impressive. Also shows the need not to show up at noon/

This. I doubt I'll ever go at opening again. Show up at 6-8 and u can walk in and out. Growler waits aren't as bad either. They ripped through a lot of beer tonight....pretty impressive.

I got there at 4:20 and was #92. Tree House opened its doors at 4:40, I probably had my cans to my car at 5:10 and I left with my growlers at 6:25. Great service!

Me neither. I don't understand how some can spend 100 plus hours a year on fantasy football. Me? I'd rather spend 20 days a year snowboarding instead of watching football. The best is Super Bowl Sunday. I was out west a few years back, about 18 inches of powder, but I had the slopes to myself because of "the big game". The lifties kept me up to date on the score.

To be clear, I completely understand why people wait for Treehouse beer. A better use of time than fantasy football, but that is simply my opinion.

I love snowboarding and fantasy football. Your story is bullshit because the super bowl starts at 6:30 est so even if you were in california, lifts are closing shortly after kickoff. I can safely say that my fantasy football has literally zero interference in the amount I can snowboard, but I'm definitely not watching every game like some people.

Overall, most people have a hard time understanding that not everyone has the same perspective. Half the people on this site think it is absurd to wait for beer, but the other half think it is completely reasonable. I do not think there is anything wrong with waiting for beer or not waiting for beer. I could give two shits less. However, I do have a problem with people thinking people that do not share there same perspective are idiots or crazy, because they wait for beer or pay a lot of money for beer. Their time and money is theirs to spend as they please.

To the poster above, I play fantasy football and do not get to play to many sports any more. I can play fantasy football, without it interfering with my dad duties, but I couldn't go play sports or snowboard for hours in the middle of the day. Not sure the point of your post is, but everyone has different hobbies. Fantasy football is a very convent hobby for me.

I do not understand how people get happy criticizing others decisions in a public forum, because they wait for beer. Personally, I could care less what people do with their time unless it's harming someone else. If I did not have kids or a house to take care of, I would wait for beer More. The day is long if your only responsibility is working. Personally, I take a 2 trips a year where me and a couple others go and wait for beer in a large group. We have a great time visiting breweries, bars, etc. sometimes there are lines, it's not a big deal.

I hit Tree House once a month on avg. it takes me 45 mins to get there and I'm usually there for 45-60 mins (as I said above, I go later in the evening). I always get 5 growlers and max cans which generally lasts me the whole month. It's really not a lot of time and it's actually a nice drive and hang at TH. Totally worth it to have the most amazing and fresh beer around.

Not to be too much of a jaded vet, but starting from the beginning to how it was last night is pretty crazy. In the grand scheme of things I still think my longest wait was for C5 back in Brimfield. Still can line moves swiftly and with more capacity and seemingly increasing limits each week, the operation runs as smooth as possible.
