Not for awhile. Alchemist made one real good IPA and it took them a long time to lose the #1 spot. TH is cranking out beers every week that blow HT away in my opinion and in many different beer styles.

I agree that rarity tends to inflate ratings, but I dont think TH has anything to worry about. Most craft beer enthusiasts are struggling to catch up with the TH regular line of beers, let alone the crazy limited beers they put out on a frequent basis.

Oh they do indeed. Seen it many times actually. I work at a beer store and when someone asks me for a recommendation sometimes they will then look on BA, tell me the rating and put the beer down. What a world haha.

Alchemist is currently brewing around 9,000 bbls per year. I don't remember where i heard or read this, but i believe the new building will only double their production. That could be wrong.

My 2012 Treehouse growlers are whales, 3 years before founding!

Or .. they're not, they're keeping it and opening a second location. Also have to love how a town almost dead center in the state East-West is Western Mass

To say that growler wait time is 45 minutes or under typically is a complete lie. Everytime I have gone and got growler fills it takes easily an hour and a half to two hours to complete the growler process.

What day/time do you typically go? Maybe this is where we can figure out why people's wait times are all over the place.

I actually think Tree House is far and away the most efficient brewery at filling growlers and filling them correctly. L Dog and the whole staff work their asses off and this statement had to be called out. I would think the one thing everyone on here could agree on is how much all the employees at Tree House care about their customers and go OUT OF THEIR WAY to make the experience as positive as possible while dealing with some insane amounts of people on a daily basis.

Well, in fairness, to a lot of us parochial coastal dwellers everything west of 128 IS western mass

They are far and away the best. Someone asked in the March thread about their plans to have twelve different beers on twelve taps, which of course didn't happen. This turned into what is IMO vastly better, where it's four to six beers on up to twelve taps, with multiple taps devoted to the ones they know they'll be moving through. Triple Shot was on at least two, I think three, and I ended up in and out in about 40 minutes with Triple Shot and other growlers a month ago.

I went on a random Friday once - no special release - and was told the wait was 2 hr 45 minutes when I handed in my ticket. So in my limited experience, 3 hour waits, is certainly a possibility.

Well, I guess just on the last few pages alone people have waited close to 3 hours. While it might not be the norm, the TH minions need to relax and understand it can and does happen. Sorry but also thankfully, I don't live close enough where I can time my runs to the absolute perfection they do. Like I said, amazing beer. Not worth the wait.

    From the boston globe article...

“There are dozens of breweries in New England that make beer at least as good but don’t get anywhere near that kind of buzz,” Crouch said

Sorry, I don't agree with this. I've had tons of different IPAs from breweries all over and the ones that tree house are making are the best if not some of the best I've ever had. If I could get it down the road from my house, that wouldn't change how I feel about their beer.

Yea agree, it's a little ridiculous to say there are dozens of breweries New England making beer at least as good. The rarity argument also doesn't really fly because it's not like those other New England breweries produce that much more than the 11k bbls Tree House will produce in 2016.
