Nice drive out to Tree House today. What a beautiful part of the state I don't get to see often enough. There were probably 3 people in front of me and no real lines at 12:30. Can't wait to try these great beers! Haven't had Haze or TWSS yet.

Hi Everyone, I tried to search through the forums but couldnt find anything on this. Im heading up to Tree House from NJ and was wondering if people generally bring coolers with them in line to load up the beer with or if its frowned upon?
    Thanks for the help!

That's fine, just don't put your cooler down and leave TH, the line will riot.

I generally leave my cooler in the car and load it up after I pay. It can get busy and lugging a cooler around can difficult. I guess it depends on the size of the cooler.

In town from CA for a wedding & trying to swing by tomorrow for some growler fills/cans to bring back with me. I have to be back in Simsbury for dinner at 6:45...it sounds like Thursday & Saturdays are a good wait. How are Fridays typically? I'd have to be out by 530 to make rehearsal dinner...would I have to get there before 4? Any advice is appreciated.

The can line generally moves pretty well and if you get there before 4p you should be near the front of the line for open. I think you will be in good shape to be back on the road by 5:30p. Depending on your number in line growlers may be ready for you after you make it through the can line. If you are in the top 30 at that point you should be good.

Stupid question: I got a growler of Double Shot about 10 days ago that was refrigerated. It spent about an hour outside of the refrigerator at room temperature yesterday. When I opened it the bottle gushed everywhere (even hit the ceiling when I tried to stop it, impressive). Surprisingly, not much beer actually came out so still got to drink 80% of it but can anyone give me a tip on how to prevent this from happening next time I get one of these and can't drink it right away. Do I need to open it immediately out of the refrigerator or do I need to let it settle to room temperature longer?

Great thanks for the info. I'll try to get there before 4 but it sounds like at least I can get some cans.

In my experience, Tree House growlers gush like crazy if you let them warm up. I don't think it has anything to do with the ten days; I've kept them farm longer than that with no issues. Just open it straight out of the fridge and you should be fine.

Just a heads up everyone, Yankee Spirits Sturbridge is having our Oktoberfest tasting tonight from 5pm-8pm. 20 tables with 100 different beers! Come by after you've stopped at Tree House!

I would actually recommend bringing the cooler. If you arrive on the earlier side, this will act as your place holder and allow you to peruse the grounds or hang at the picnic tables. It's not unusual for there to be a line of coolers in the parking lot prior to opening.

As mentioned above, just don't put down your cooler and leave the brewery, or you run the risk of vigilante justice.

Not to hijack the thread, but will the miserable, extremely rude, long-haired guy from the beer department be there? If so, I'll be passing this up. Not down with employees that give customers crap.
