Anyone have any recent growler issues? I had a 2L explode on me in the car on the way home 3 other 2L were fine -all were in a cooler with buffering bottle to bottle action

Can't believe (a few) people don't get the full allotment of Haze

It's really entirely dependent on what's on tap, what's left for cans, etc..

If you want, ask again on Friday night, or just send me a direct message and I'll give you a decent idea. Just realize that for growlers, you're really looking at an extended stay. Either you show up early and wait, and you'll be out before/around 11 - or you show up later in the day, with a chance of many beers being kicked. But again, it all depends on what's available.

After all my visits, I've got a pretty decent feel for what crowds will be like, as I'm sure many others on here are the same way. Feel free to ask later this week as a reminder.

Hi All- My wife and I are taking a trip out to Boston (from CO) later this month specifically to get beer from Tree House and Trillium. I arrive at 1:00pm on Friday the 26th. The original plan was hit up Trillium after we get to the hotel (3 blocks from their downtown location), cross that off the list, then wake up at the butt-crack of dawn on Saturday and head to Tree House. I didn't realize before reading this forum (and also the one from last month), that can sales are not guaranteed on Saturdays. From your guys' experience, do they sell cans 50/75/95% of the time on Saturdays? Do they just run out sooner since they don't have a fresh allotment? Now I think we might head straight to TH after we land since I know they'll have can sales on Friday night. Also kind of sucks that I don't know if it'll be 3, 8, or 12 cans PP. I always thought it was 12PP, but apparently that isn't the case. That's a long way to travel for less than 12 beers!

This, but just to add to that, it seems like nate has made some changes to how they handle saturdays, the last two saturdays they have been holding back beer earlier in the week to make sure they have a better variety/amount left for saturday. Its been months since I have been on a saturday, but it was always slow later in the day. So arriving at like 3 or 4 could be a very short wait for growlers, there just might only be one or two beers available, and a much lower chance for cans.

Canning runs are planned typically for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Depending on the crowd on Friday, there's a chance Saturday morning that the limits become extremely low or cans sell out. As someone being out of state, it's a bit difficult to tell you to fill growlers, as they will only fill their own (MA state law).

I think your game plan should be to play it by ear. Either you skip Trillium Friday, go to TH, and hit Trillium Saturday - or you're just going to have to eat the cost for a few growlers. 750's are $5, 2L's are $6.. if you're only making this trip once with no plans for the future, I'd have to tell you to bite the bullet and get growler fills as well to enjoy while you're in Boston - and then fly home with the cans.

If you're traveling this entire way for beer, I think the extra money is worth it. Just my opinion. It might sound crazy from a Colorado perspective, but please keep in mind just how popular this brewery is... and for good reason.

I'd add that if you're definitely going to Trillium (regardless of if it's Friday or Saturday), you'll be able to leave with a shit ton of cans, with more options. Cans of beers at least as good as Treehouse, albeit more expensive. If you're set on getting cans at Treehouse, going there Friday is your best bet.

Thanks for the response! I think we'll definitely head there right after we land assuming traffic isn't a nightmare. I'll grab some growlers to drink over the weekend too.. Then I can focus on Trillium and fresh seafood on Saturday/Sunday.. Ha!

Awesome, thanks! I've been lucky enough to try some Trillium (Summer St, Ft Point, Melcher St) and plan on bringing a bunch back with me. Can't wait to see what they have to offer when I'm out there. While Colorado has a ton of micro-breweries, there are only a few that are getting into the East Coast IPA craze. Not sure what all the others are waiting for!

    First post.

Saw Tree House took off the Teku glass from online sales. Anyone know if that's going away? Was hoping to get one for a best man gift.

The Teku glass sells so quickly online that we can only offer it intermittently with our current staff. Will ask my wife if there is a timeframe for the next offering...

Okay great, thanks! I check everyday and use to see it listed, just with it being sold out. Saw it wasn't even on the store anymore so had me wondering.

I got there at around 3 today and it was the longest line that I had seen at that time on a Wednesday. Talked to some nice people in line and 20 minutes or so later I was heading back to my car with half a case...beautiful day. Both Julius and Haze are tasting incredible as always.

That's awesome, looking forward to first trip to Tree House in 2 weeks, hoping to get lucky on Weds cans. Assuming no flight/rental car delays, will be 3:00 or 3:30 before get to TH, seems might be pushing it based on recent Weds cans running out early.

enjoying a Julius from today's run, fantastic. super busy today but kudos to the staff for cranking through the line. i brought my 4 month old pup today and she had a blast. place is super dog friendly. i live just under an hour from the brewery and make pretty frequent visits and this thread is really spot on for information for all those out of towner's wondering.

It's possible that the yields are a few cases different, but there are probably some people who only take a few of one or another beers (as weird as that seems)....
