LOTS of complaints in the facebook groups about the 8/24 Julius.

I'm still drinking Julius from 8/18 and it's great, I can't speak for the 8/24 batch. I feel like ppl can be a little pretentious with "drinking fresh" beer. My cans were great the same day and last nights can was great. In general I think beers usually drink better after waiting a week or so. For me it's insurance that the beer isn't too green. That's not to say that I sit on beer though, it takes me a while to get through them anyway. I don't need to be going to breweries more than once every 3-4 weeks.

I had a Julius last week from mid-June and I was damn impressed to be honest - 2 months time and still tasted great

Lots of side by side pics of the batches from multiple members, they definitely look different at the very least.

My Julius cans from 8/24 are noticeably different from ones I've had previously (many, many times). Definitely doesn't smell the way Julius typically smells. I wouldn't be able to blindly choose it out of a lineup.

    Still tastes great though.

It also tastes different to me than usual. This batch is definitely less juicy, and more of a bread taste with almost no nose. Just my opinion, which doesn't really count for shit.

I was baked out of my mind and cracked one. It looked and tasted exactly like Bright. I've never moved my face that quickly away from a glass of beer before. I thought I was going crazy and Tree House canned the wrong beer. I was about to log onto facebook until I remembered I was gone and was probably mostly tasting the "other" plant in the hop family.

Still think it looked like Bright tho. Not nearly as hazy. Maybe I'll crack one tonight and see if there is some truth to what the highly regarded facebook users are saying.

I can't speak for this last batch of Julius since I didn't get any, but everything I've had from Charlton has been on point.

The 08/10 batch of Doppleganger is just straight fire.

I'm a bigger fan of Charlton Green than Monson Green, but maybe it's just growing on me. I do know one thing, IMO Julius 8/24 isn't Julius. At least not the Julius we typically get.

Anyone have 8/18 and 8/24 Julius? I'd love to see a side by side pic. I don't have the patience for the Facebook groups, so their may be pics posted that I haven't seen. If anyone wants to post here I'd be interested.

Well that certainly looks different. Are people over there saying a real difference in flavor or mainly a mouthfeel and carb difference? I've always been of the mind that brewing will always be slightly different because you are using organic ingredients that will vary because of several different reasons (weather, handling, storage, etc). In this case these were brewed 1 week apart, I'm assuming. Maybe the end of 1 batch of ingredients and the beginning of another? Although you would think that happens often with the amount of beer they put out. This is really the first time that I've heard of a consistency/quality issue from them. I'm not sure that it's an issue unless it start happening regularly. I'm sure it still tasted great, but they have built their name on consistantcy and quality. I wonder if anybody over there will post with an explanation or just let it get forgotten and keep producing quality stuff.

I'm not sure exactly what they're saying as I don't like to visit the dark side often. I can only say the taste is way off for me. I'm sure the next batch will be perfect, hopefully this week please.

Yeah, this is definitely the first time I've noticed anything different/off with a Tree House beer, and I've been going since Brimfield (well, I went to Brimfield once, lol).

But there's definitely something different about this batch. I'm actually surprised they didn't just throw it in a Curiosity can.

It's a bad batch of Julius people lol.

To be expected. Not everything can be perfect. Happens everywhere. I remember some early AND late batches of Haze up in Monson ... they were terrible compared to the normal 10/10 that they constantly put up. They will figure stuff out but it comes with the territory.

Yall are still going to buy their stuff though hahaha.
