New month, new thread. It seemed to work well for August so here we go again. Let's try and make this one stop shopping for all things Tree House. Cheers!

Does anyone know how they came up with the name Julius?

I'm hoping it has something to do with the movie Twins.

Orange Julius maybe? It makes sense if I nailed it.

A friend of mine asked Dean one time and told me...but...ironically, we had consumed a lot of Julius already so I can't remember. I believe it had something to do with Julius Caesar...I know it wasn't Orange Julius because that was my initial guess, and I don't think it was Julius Irving because that was my joke guess...

I was going to try to resist the temptation to go this week, but this little bit from their description of the current batch of Haze has me rethinking:

    "This batch....Orange Juice, man."

Thinking of heading down tomorrow evening from the Merrimack Valley area. Traffic down 495, 290, and the pike will probably a big PITA. Anyone in area ever go 495, 2, to 190? Any better?

From Sturbridge, take 19 South in Brimfield center (left at THE light in town), 2nd right Haynes Hill Rd, 1st right Hollow Rd, take left onto 20 West at end. Continue on merry way to Monson. Don't speed on Hollow Rd, cops sit in various spots this week.

    Cheers,
    Pete

Never been, thinking of finally making the drive up this Saturday for Julius. From what I've read, it is merely retail? I know they don't serve pints but wasn't sure if you could order a sampler or something...It's only about an hour and a half drive up for me so to me it's worth it just for a couple growlers, but is there anything else (beer or otherwise) worth checking out in the area?

Samples are available (1oz), you may want to check the Twitter feed or on-tap page on the website just in case Julius kicks on Saturday or before, but other beer are on like Haze, TWSS and others TBD.

Yankee Spirits in Sturbridge is a good beer shop, also in Sturbridge you can take your bottles over to BT's Smokehouse and open them up. There are other good places to eat there but not really beer centric, closest thing would be Armsby Abbey/Dive Bar in Worcester.

got home 10 min ago. Haze....opened....sipped....O Face

Mikecap, hopefully you've been to Armsby Abbey already but if not, as Jay suggested, it's def worth a stop there for a meal on the way home. That place is my fave.

for a beer named Haze, this is about the clearest, most transparent Tree House beer I've ever seen. Sure is yummy though. Very juicy

Stopped in tonight about 6:15 and was told an hour and a half wait. Got samples of Julius (just cause its necessity) and Haze (holy good stuff) and decided not to stay to wait in line. Yea I know when you drive an hour and forty minutes to get to Tree House not waiting for growlers is probably dumb but my daughter has school in the morning and having her in bed by 9 instead of after 10 is more important.
Not to mention I was just there for C7 last week and still have 64oz of goodness to open this weekend and I will be back again soon. Very soon.
However I can say even just the samples and the ambiance of Tree House are worth it for me. Damn I can't wait for Julius cans.
Here's hoping they decide to can a batch of their other offerings every now and then as well.
Was good to see Dean working the room while I was there as well.

surprise of surprises (to me at least)! TWSS kicked before Julius today (still 1bbl of that left according to the ontap page) That leaves things pretty wide open for Sat. Haze & ?????

There is some good beer karma heading your way after reading this post, I believe it.

Hey guys, I'm thinking about making my first trip up to Tree House today since they have both Haze and Julius on tap. HOWEVER, their page says they only have 1 BBL left of Julius. Do any Tree House regulars know about how long that will last? Will 50 people be lined up there waiting a half hour before they open at 5??? I'd hate to spend 4 hours driving not get some Julius... Might just have to wait till the next time... Anyone have any tips/intel???
