What do you mean by this? Is there something unique about how they fill their growlers? I have noticed they are usually topped off pretty well. Is that it?

They purge them with CO2 before filling them so all the oxygen is out of the growler.

    Maybe a musical reference?

Anyway it's got a good ring to it for a beer that tastes the way Julius does.

On Tap page updated at 8:50 am today:

    Available for growler fills:

“JULIUS” (American IPA - 6.8% ABV) - Bursting with pungent American hops, Julius, our American IPA, is loaded with notes of passionfruit, mango, and citrus. A soft, pillowy mouthfeel and rounded bitterness makes Julius very, very easy to drink. You've been warned! (750ML - $8 | 2L - $16) *** Limit three total bottles w/ up to 1 2L **

    Available for growler fills:

    “CURIOSITY EIGHT”
(American Double IPA - 8.2% ABV) - We’re excited to release the eighth installment of our beloved Curiosity Series, Curiosity Eight! We used a very simple malt bill to produce a glowing yellow beer seasoned heavily with one of our very favorite American hops - Amarillo (among others…)! The aroma is bright, with a flood of citrus fruit and a surge of straight up fresh hop bag. We taste beautiful flavors of pungent grapefruit with waves of soft tangerine - Quite distinct! The mouthfeel on Eight is lovely, with just the right amount of bitterness. We love it more the more we drink it… Though that could be the beer or the 8.2% talkin’....(750ML - $10 | 2L - $20) *** Limit three total bottles w/ up to 1 2L **(10 BBL Batch)

How bad is the wait on Thursdays? Is it recommended to show up before opening, or does showing up at 6-7:00 work too?

@dar482 I've been going on Thursdays more frequently lately. Since I'm coming from over a hour away I like to get there on the early side of opening. It usually ensures me one of the top 5 order slips. I don't mind waiting beforehand because if I get a good order slip # I am usually back on the road in no time.

I will say that the one time, either a Thursday or Friday back in April, that I arrived around/after 7 we were the only people there. It was awesome, but I consider that an anomaly.

The Thursday I went for the release of C7 (showing up at 6:30) it was a good hour wait. A guy who was there 30-45 min before said it was an hour for him, too. I assume C8 release would be similar…? Either way, if you don't mind being patient, I say show up whenever.

As a rule of thumb, I usually find a 4:30 arrival will put you in the top 20 slips, so I usually aim for this which usually pans out to about an hour total wait.

Last week I went right before close Thursday and there was one other guy filling. A great couple from CA stopped in and we hung out for a bit. It was marvelous.

Another time a few weeks back, I went right before close and was near the last person filled...an hour and a half after close at 9:30.

    There is no easy answer.

First time at Tree House tonight. Used to get their beer at Dive Bar/Armsby a lot when I lived in Worcester. Arrived at 7:05 and left right around 7:55 give or take a few minutes. The wait really didn't feel that long, kind of like decompressing towards the end of the work week. I didn't count but if I had to guess there were between 20-25 people in the room at any given time. Had no idea Curiosity 8 would be on-tap so that was a huge plus. Can't go wrong with any of their beers never mind Julius and Curiosity. I liked the tasting room setup and the farm location is very nice. The whole crew was friendly and I will definitely be back with all of these new growlers I own. Hopefully they can get some more kegs in distro with the new, larger brewing setup.

Can someone with some brewing knowledge explain to me the unique tast that Tree House has with their hoppy beers? Is it the yeast? I notice for example that both Julius and Curiosity Eight have this similar fruity undercurrent, and I have noticed the same thing with Green and other beers from them, and I am always wondering what this secret sauce is because I do not often (if ever) taste this in bottled/canned beers.

Just a heads up for everyone planning a trip this afternoon - we are completely wiped out as of 4:13. A bunch more into kegs next week. Thank you for understanding.

Went there for the first time on Thursday. Got there around 7:15 and waited about an hour. Unsure about the rules on tastings there, but it didn't seem like anyone was tasting. Staff was extremely friendly and joked around with guests. It definitely made the wait go by faster.

Their hoppy beers are the best I've had outside of VT and IA.

I know what you mean. I get a similar taste from Hill Farmstead beers. No clue what the secret is though.

I need to pay attention to this thread more often. I've been wanting to check out Tree House at some point and Good Morning sounds like exactly the beer that would have made me make the effort to get down there. Double Shot sounded awesome but this sounds fucking amazing. I really hope they brew it again some day.

I was lucky enough to come across a bottle of Good Morning at a party this after. It was truly amazing. They don't need my fluffing, but it was really that good.

    how does that even happen?

good news for you though. Good Morning was an O Face beer in this house for sure. I shared my one bottle with my wife and another couple. The other wife doesnt drink beer for fear of being allergic to one thing or another...yet after one taste, she was willing to risk it all for Good morning.

My good friend's uncle was one of the supplier of the maple syrup. I was very happy for the incredible luck.
