I am looking to trade for a growler of good morning. I know it had already been 3 weeks since release and was curious if anyone knows if Tree House counter pressure fills their growlers or how well their beers hold up over time. Any information would be appreciated. Cheers!!
I've had a Julius with a few weeks on it and it tasted delicious though there was some loss of carbonation. But add shipping to it and not sure what the result would be.
I will be having my Good Morning on Thanksgiving which will be three weeks and Julius as well which will be 2 weeks. I can report back then but I have heard it holds up well.
I don't believe Tree House counter-pressure fills their growlers, but they do CO2 purge them. I've never sat on a Good Morning that long but I've had some of their other beers after that length of time and had no complaints. In one of the previous threads, I believe someone said Dean from Tree House thought Good Morning would be able to hold up for a long time.
I sat on the initial release of Good Morning for right around 2 months. It held up beautifully. It wasn't quite as good as it was fresh but it was a very, very small change.
I've had Julius and Haze that were over a month old that were fine. I've also had different double shots with 1-3 months of age and thought they tasted just as good, if not better, than fresh
If you can find Good Morning for trade, just do it! I think someone said they held onto GM batch #1 for over 2 months and it was fine Everything else mentioned above is true. You can also count on your growler being filled right to the tippy top most of the time. I think the 2l growlers may be more susceptible to loss of carbonation but I've had one with over a month on it and it was fine. The flip tops should hold.....and hold.....and hold. Think of just how far/long a Grolsch in a flip top bottle held up before it got to you (assuming you've had some)
