Hey everyone—just wanted to follow back on this. Ended up hitting Trillium first and that was a blast. Nice property even though it is in an office park. After that, convinced everyone to keep the party going and went to Treehouse. Lucked out and the line for cans and pours was short. Overall, everyone had a great day, drank some awesome beer, and have a solid assortment of cans to bring back.

That's not fair at all. You told us it was one or the other, not both. Sure, there were some out of the box thinkers who sent you to Jack's (great call), but you made the in-law thing sound tenuous...Glad it worked out!

I can't go to Springdale with anyone, family or otherwise, as I have a problematic addiction to Big Buck Hunter.

I showed up at TH at 230 yesterday and the pours only line seemed short but it took a solid 45 min - hr... They crush the lines on cans only days but man were they spread thin yesterday. Seemed by like 4:00 it had calmed down a bit but when I convinced the wife to go later since there wouldnt be much of a line for pours only, she was not happy about waiting in the sun for a half hour.

i kinda get waiting for cans. I'm done doing it, but I get it.

Waiting for pours is just insane to me. If I'm going somewhere to sit down and drink with my friends, it would never be anywhere that requires a wait. And you can't hit me with the quality argument because plenty of people are driving right by Armsby Abbey/Dive Bar to get there, among plenty of other great breweries and bars.

i mean i legit prefer sitting at a non-craft bar and ordering round after round of guiness versus any craft beer bar experience, but when I do have a hankering for craft hops or something there's still a plethora of options pretty much anywhere in MA.

I went to Tree House for the first time last Saturday, and while it wasn't too bad, they didn't have any shirts in my size (small/medium), and I was only allowed 2 draft pours, which I realized after I got two 12oz stouts and I wanted an IPA to refresh myself, and saw they had AAAlter Ego on draft. Overall my experience at Tree House was not worth it in the end. I live close to the city, and I'll be looking forward to Trillium's new taproom and brewery when they open up. Forget about Tree House in my opinion, simply not worth it unless you live close, and their hours and pour limitations are incredibly wack. I see them as a selfish tourist destination and not a community oriented brewery like Trillium. Also, their hoppy beers taste more like wheat than hops, and I've had Tree House many times before, even before the new brewery. Trillium is better, simply put. Tree House just artificially creates their high demand and exclusivity which in the end isn't even worth it imho. You can't even get their beers on draft anywhere. Tree House is a very selfish tourist attraction type of brewery.

First of all, what kind of name is 'StoutElk' for somebody who wears a small/medium shirt?!?! I have to buy like three or four XXL shirts and then take them to Omar the Tentmaker to have them altered into some sort of baggy, poncho-like thing. Just saying.

I disagree that Tree House beers aren't as good as Trillium's - not better or worse, they're different, and sometimes I'm jonesing for one and sometimes the other.

But I agree that the experience isn't worth it. I'm done with that stupid wrap-around-the-parking-lot-how-many-light-poles thing.

Lol, not everything should be taken literally. I had to think of a name quick to sign up to use the app (which is no longer available), and I like stouts, was a newbie, I like elks, and so the name came to be. I like to think it was some sort of genius when I made it. Don't need to attack me for my smaller size. Sorry that I am not as big and large as you hoped.

And mind me, I do love Julius and Green and I haven't had some of the double versions of those like King Julius and I would like to, but they make them impossible to get. I do like some of Tree House beers better than Trillium's, especially the stouts, but I do not like the model of Tree House. They have a selfish business model that is fine and works for them, but it makes their good beers nearly impossible to get, and from a customer point of view that should be understandable. At least Trillium recreates most of their beers that aren't one off collabs and things like that, and they make their beer as accessible as they can and want. They even have an outdoor beer garden in downtown, and a taproom more out in the woods near center MA, and are continuously expanding. What is Tree House doing with all the money? Never making Good Morning again? Sucks for me.:stuck_out_tongue:
