I was responding to a post suggesting they should charge more and "price people out."

Anyone care to comment on the El Dorado Cutting Tiles? Wondering how root beer and honey goes together...

75 has already priced people out. Not because they are poor and the people with that money are the glitterati but because it it more than they are willing to pay. They should keep going in that directio. Until it takes an hour to sell out. They make more money and more people have time to breathe.

Triple IPA sounds interesting...wondering if they've figured out what was going on with the other ludicrously hopped beers from the summer(headroom/never and again) that were giving a lot of people that green/burning sensation.

I have a feeling they're going to go the route of a pure lupulin powder beer...which I would not be terribly excited about.

    Hyped for the TRIPA!

I wonder if this will be like Scaled Way Up

I have to imagine there is a line where the ticket cost is high enough that even if an event still sells out fast, enough people are miffed at being priced out that the loss of those people's goodwill (and potential future $) isn't worth the immediate profit. (For the record I don't think $75 for these tickets or $22 for a 4pk are particularly close to that breaking point.) I certainly can't knock Trillium for creeping the price up with increasing demand, especially with the amount they continue to reinvest in expanding the brewery. I do take a lot of interest however in how rising prices affect the popularity of the industry - it's natural economics, but also risky when the degree to which even the "best" beer is cheaper than wine seems to be a major selling point for some entering this "hobby."

Unless I forget something, I don't think Trillium has ever done an IPA topping 10 percent. As they're calling this a Triple IPA and Heavy Mettle is a DIPA at 9.3, I expect we'll see the first Trillium IPA that crosses the 10 percent threshold.

Certainly interested to see what they do.

Totally agree - i would imagine them pushing the envelope just a bit but not too too far - if I was a betting man, I'd put my money on a non-lupulin powder 10.3% juice bomb.

Think they'll have the cajones to charge more than $22 for the TIPA?

My guess is $25 per four pack, 2-per person limit.

    I'll take the over.

I personally don't get the appeal of the TIPA. Never had one I really liked and I don't appreciate the extra ABV either.

Having had Other Half's 3rd Anniversary (they did not however, bill it as a triple IPA) that came in at 10%, I'm interested.

But ya, expecting at least 25 for the 4pk

$24 or $25 for the pack is my guess. the Scaled Way Up bottles were extremely expensive.

Scaled Way Up bottles were $13 which was the same price point as Heavy Mettle bottles at the time. That said I'd expect the anniversary beer to be $24 or $25, in the neighborhood of the Headroom 4-packs.

They already went to $23 for either Headroom or The Beer That Shall Not Be Named (& Again), didn't they? So I would expect this to be higher--I'll say $24...

They've only went to $23 once, for Headroom. Before canning they said that 4pks would range from $13-$22. They have stayed true to that with the exception of Headroom, which, it seems, has extra hops.

I don't know why everyone on here assumes they'll go over $22 for a beer just because it is higher abv, but we'll see. Everyone jumping over themselves to say they'd guess $25 only enforces that they can charge whatever they want.

Just my second time there and picked some up on Wednesday. Love being able to get a mixed case all of kinds I haven't had yet. I really liked the El Dorado Cutting Tiles. Taste was unique and delicious and smell was great. Looking forward to drinking more of it this weekend.
