    (old) News:

"You guys like cans. A lot.

...we're pumped to announce we're changing the packaging format for all of our hop forward beers (and recently extended to some other styles too) from 750ml / 25.4oz bottles into 16oz cans!

Batch sizes and case counts will go up as we get our legs under us.

Cans will be available at both breweries, but please note we won't be able to split the cases evenly on the same day as packaging for logistical reasons (so fewer cases available in Boston vs Canton on day of packaging). Thanks on behalf of the whole trillium team for your support to help us achieve this incredible milestone."

First two can releases in June (end of the month) were Congress Street and Melcher Street. Cans come in four packs but you can buy individual cans, if you like. Yes, the date is on the bottom.

    Trillium Can Spreadsheet:

@jimmyfausto created this awesome spreadsheet. In his own words:

I've been maintaining a spreadsheet for all Trillium can release information, including sell out times, hours/days available, and other notes. I know availability is a frequent topic here, especially for travelers and newbies, so I've made the google doc viewable by the below link. (Let me know if people have trouble accessing it)

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mmBOt3Bia-mo5gef5A7nENRkFSBx7NCVaSXbH9RYJ78/edit?usp=sharing

All sell out information is from Trillium's social media, unless noted. There have been rare occasions where they didn't post sell out times for a few beers, in which case I guessed the hours.

    New Hours at Canton:

"OUR NEW HOURS RESOLUTION It's a new year! Time for a Team Trillium resolution: make Canton more awesome. We've always felt like party poopers shouting "last call" every Friday night, so starting tomorrow (1/6) Canton will now be open until 10PM on Fridays & Saturdays! And EVERY Sunday from 12PM-5PM! Cheers to more beer, more food trucks, and more fun in 2017."

Please note that LAST CALL is 30 minutes before closing! This applies to Canton site only.

Reminder: Fort Point site does NOT offer any on premises drinking.

    Haha.

They released Pot & Kettle with Chocolate yesterday. I'd have thought that might have garnered a post in this thread.

I think people are still traumatized from vanilla P&K.

I enjoyed it? What did people not like? And has anyone tried the chocolate variant yet?

Yeah, I missed it. Seemed very polarizing though. One guy with a George Costanza avatar liked it, another hated. I'd love to side by side these, but right now I'm too lazy to go to the brewery.

Vanilla P&K is awesome. You have to like vanilla, of course. Goes down so smooth.

Same. I really like the Vic secret too. I like that they are using some more variety besides the big hitter fruity hops. I feel these are very unique in thier catalog.

Did you try their Polaris? Now that is a weird hop but I think put on display well by Trillium.

I remember that one tasting like onion broth. Might be why Polaris never made it into their arsenal.

I didn't. It's the only one I haven't had. I recall enigma not really being a home run. The rest are imo.

Or anyone's arsenal, really. It's not remotely an IPA hop IMO.

that polaris pale ale was not great. i don’t think it was a fppa variant though. just a pale ale with polaris hops (at least that’s how they billed it on the fort point location chalkboard). also didn’t care for the original a street ipa when it was azacca instead of amarillo like it is now, which was strange because i like azacca. tasted like a lime juice soda.

If I remember right, Vicinity and Polaris came out for the first time the same day and I went down to fill up some growlers. The person working the counter asked if I had tried the Polaris yet, and if not, if I wanted a sample - and then went very out of their way to give me an out if I didn't want to fill a growler of that after all. I think they knew right off the bat it wasn't for everyone, to say the least.

So looks like cellar Sunday is back and mentions nothing about case count and bottles, pretty much the same post. Gotta love how they say they want to be more transparent and continue to do the opppoisite.

@JCTetreault Are the drafts pouring at the Canton brewery from the same batches that are being canned?

  20. JCTetreault

    JCTetreault Initiate (0) Mar 19, 2008 Massachusetts

Yes...we pull kegs that go on for draft accounts, taproom, growler fills...not individual batches for draft vs canning runs. why do you ask?
