Going up for a work trip in a couple weeks. Will be staying in Hingham, MA. Can anyone recommend a bottle shop or two where I can go and pick up some bombers? Or is it better to go to one of the brewery locations? Thanks in advance.

Brewery is your best/only option. Some bottle shops around Boston get limited distro, but not the IPAs.

Redstone in Stoneham had FPPA for their grand opening. While not an IPA, it's certainly one of their hoppy offerings. Not sure if it was a special drop specifically for that event, but I'd guess that with the uptick in production we'll start seeing more variety hitting distro - albeit limited distro listed on their site:

The Canton brewery will almost certainly be your best bet.

Trillium's Canton location is easy if you have a car, but if you are feeling adventurous or don't have a car, the Hingham commuter ferry drops you at Rowe's Wharf, a 10-minute walk from Trillium's Fort Point location and Row 34 (where you can find Trillium on tap).

yea your only about 30mins away from their new location, if you can swing it - pass on the bottle shops and head over there.

IMO u should go to the Fort Point location -- grab lunch or dinner next door at Row 34 oyster bar after u get your haul. Steller tap list and lately they have had 2 Trill taps on. Trillium beer and island creek (or any other kind of local /fresh) oysters is a match made in heaven......the bar will even store your beer in the walk in fridge behind the hostess station.

Canton is so close to Hingham that it would be a waste to even try to tackle the Boston location if you are from out of town. There is a reason I would never live on the South Shore. Getting in and out of the city at ANY time is a mess from there. (My mother grew up in Hingham)

No offense to Canton or Hingham but if I'm in town from another part of the country I'd rather hang out in Boston if at all feasible. The commuter rail from the south shore will get you to South Station a short walk from Trillium. The Row 34 suggestion for seafood and beer is a good one especially for someone from a land locked state.

Most of the CBC stores got bottle drops today and looks like it will be a regular thing. CBC Braintree would be 10 minutes or so from Hingham so that could be an option if you don't make it to a brewery.

I agree with that part about visiting Boston, but not everyone wants to do that. Public transit in Boston is a joke and the city is kind of a pain in the ass all together. Outside of Row 34 there really isn't much I would go to in Boston proper as a destination for beer at all. Row 34 never blew me away(I have one 5 minutes from my house here too and we like it sometimes) I lived there enough to know it kinda sucks for good beer. Cambridge/Allston, whole other story.

Good for the OP there are a few good options to choose from. As someone who travels for work a lot, I always chuckle a bit when I see the (admittedly helpful) responses to these types of questions. When I'm on the road for business, 95% of the time I'm looking for a decent place for a bite and a beer close to my hotel and a solid bottle shop within a short distance. An afternoon/evening at Row 34 is always a good time, but we're probably minimizing the hassle of taking the commuter rail and then walking ten minutes in the freezing cold. But then again I'm probably just less adventurous when I travel!

Canton is the same distance from Hingvegas as fort point. And u get the pleasure of paying 19 bucks to park when you go to Boston...,

And is an easy hour+ from Hingham on a good day.

Options go CBC Hingham->Brewery in Canton->Take the Ferry and go to Fort Point.

Some Craft Beer Cellar stores have gotten it but they tend to have 1 bottle limits, the brewery has 12 bottle limits. Go to the brewery. If you can at all get a car, go to Canton. It is such a painless experience at the Canton location. But if you were looking to go into the city anyway just hit up the Fort Point location.

Absolutely not true since it all depends on the time of day. Also Canton to Boston might be faster depending on the traffic. You sound like a guy with relatives here and doesn't know the area that well.
