First, I'm super pumped to be able to attend this year. Just looking for some basic info. I know it's a ticketed event and all but should I expect a long line prior to open? Leaving from NY and just trying to plan my arrival.

Second I imagine this is one of the busier days at canton facility. Do they typically, or do you think that the retail shop will run out of brews due to the influx of people? Wondering if it would be wise to grab beers to go before entering the event.

    Thanks for any input !

They'll have plenty of beer there and there's no reason to line up before they open. The lines end up forming at the bars inside so there isn't really a way to avoid that. Last year, the line was big at the one pouring kriek/zwanze and the other bar was easy to get a drink at. They split different cantillons between the two bars so you could go to either.

Curious on what bottles were available last year? Fou Foune?

As I recall, the bottles were only Trillium. I think they had Classic, Iris, Mamouche, and Kriek from Cantillon on draft and the rest were their own (both draft and bottle).

180 tickets so it shouldn't be overly busy.
Tilquin was pouring and Iris was grand cru. Other than that it was all trillium.

They had 1 trillium option aside from the zwanze pour everyone gets? I looked at other hosts and places say there will be multiple options

I think at the easy line the Cantillons were Iris Grand Cru and Classic. From Trillium, I can only accurately say there was double red stonington. Probably a Soak and some IPAs on the other taps.

I also remember the Kriek pouring slow AF. Maybe from foaming too much. So that could've been the whole reason that line was so long since most people were ordering it.

Instagram said a zwanze day info email will be sent out shortly. A buddy of mine just sent the Monks Zwanze draft list and it included, gueze, nath, st hilles, st lamvinus, vigneronne, kriek, zwanze. Hopefully we get quite a few as well.

Well the teaser list consists of 8 cantillon options. Which is amazing. With "many surprises To come"

Damn, that is lightyears ahead of last year's draft list.

Anyone going to Seymour, or have thoughts on how the Seymour event went last year? Going there with some friends for the 2:30 session.

Yes it is and the entire approach this year seems much better than last year in terms of cost.

Last year was $100pp for 2 glasses, 30 total oz of beer, 1 pizza, and an ice cream. This year is $15 for 1 glass and 1 beer (guessing 5 oz?) so unless the draft pours are exorbitantly priced this will end up being a much better deal.

Sad to say, but I very much disliked it. They did all beers as courses, which kinda took forever, and they didn't tap the Zwanze at the specified time all are supposed to tap it. Overall bad experience.

Fingers crossed. I'm a little worried about the pricing.

My type of event, the perfect amount of people, plenty of beer to go around and prices on certain beers that people can't complain about. Hopefully I can win the lottery again next year.
