    Hey,

Heading up to Burlington on Saturday. Planning on stopping at Foam, Burlington Beer, Zero Gravity, and Fiddlehead. Any other spots to hit? Also, looking for the best distributor up there to see if I can grab some Foley, Frost, etc. Thanks - appreciate the advice

The Growler Garage is right near Foam. Usually have a tap list worth checking out.
Beverage Warehouse in Winooski is fairly close, will have most of what you are looking for.
Do you come from I91 or from the NY side when heading into Burlington? If I91 to I89 then there are a lot of other good options you will be driving by. (e.g. River Roost, Alchemist, Waterbury, Montpelier).

Nobody ever mentions Simple Roots in Burlington. Nice taproom experience. Worth a stop if you have time.

Heading in from the NY side so will probably save Alchemist, Hill Farmstead, and those for another trip. Heard about the Beverage Warehouse and that looks like a great spot - any idea on what lines will look like? Thanks for the advice and will definitely try to stop in at Simple Roots

The lines would be for a special release (like Lawson's Bottles). For regular stuff shouldn't be an issue. Should be able to grab Heady or SoS on multiple places around Burlington.

If you're passing by stop in at Common Roots in Glens Falls. Christian is the man. Great beer.

Any feeling on what the foam line might be like Saturday? What is it like on a typical drop day

I believe tomorrow is a can and dot release so I would say get there for opening and you should be fine. Lines are not crazy but can tend to sell out

I just made the trip a few weeks ago, was also worried about Foam cans selling out but I ended up leaving Foam a little before 8 PM on a busy Friday and they still had cans. Saturday I left around 3:30 and they still had cans despite the taproom being packed.

However, those were for Pavement and Built To Spill, which have become can staples. This weekend may be different because they're releasing two new (or at least infrequent) cans.

Trip was great. Went up and got to the Beverage Warehouse in Winooski (about 15 minutes north of Burlington). Was there for open on a little line and the place is a gold mine (Alchemist, Lawsons, Upper Pass, Foley, Frost, and more). Then, we hit Foam for the double can release on a line about an hour or so long. Really cool spot and great beer. Next, hit Zero Gravity which is an awesome atmosphere - heated bar top, bottomless popcorn, and pretty good beer. Finished it up with pizza and beer about 15 minutes south at Fiddlehead in Shelburne. Definitely a trip I would love to do again soon.

There is a line at a beer shop?! How fresh were the cans there?

Cans were very fresh. But yes, small line for Lawson’s and Alchemist stuff

Headed up Saturday for my birthday. Plan is Alchemist at 11am for opening. From the Alchemist thread sounds like I should get in and out of there pretty quickly.

Then off to Burlington Beer Co. for beer/lunch/cans. Hoping they still have cans of their new triple IPA.

Then fiddlehead/foam and four quarters if time.

Waterbury on the way home for dinner at Blackback and buy a bunch of cans at the CBC.

If I hit Foam around 2:30pm on a Saturday does anyone know if I can expect a wait to get through the doors? Also is there any chance at that time of cans still being there from the Friday release? Thanks

Good luck! It's one of my favorite new beers for me, and probably my favorite beer they've ever produced.

I haven't been in a little while, but usually there isn't a wait to get inside unless it's a can/Dot release. And per an earlier message, someone mentioned that some of the staples (Pavement, Built to Spill) last into Saturday from the Friday before and tomorrow is a Built to Spill release. (I will also be in the same boat, so I'm crossing my fingers for the same).

Enjoy your trip, sounds great! (Though I'd also recommend trying to sneak Hill Farmstead in if you can manage it.)

Been wanting the triple for awhile haven't met a person that didn't love it. I haven't had a lot of Foam so I would be fine with getting some cans of the staples. I'll also have a growler that I think fits their website stipulations.

I would love to do Hill Farmstead but it is so far out of the way. I think I will do a summer run up there just to HF.

FYI- alchemist to hillfarm is less than an hour. Then hillfarm to Burlington 1:30

Hey I am heading to Burlington some time this summer. Leaving from North shore MA and was wondering if there are any decent stops (beer/food/anything interesting) off of I-89? Looking to make 1 or 2 stops along the 3+ hour drive. Thanks!

    Yes.

    • A few decent places in Concord
      • Concord Craft Brewery. Nice little tap room with decent brews and variety
      • The Barley House. Decent pub food and decent (by NH standards) tap list
    • Flying Goose Pub in Sunapee. Decent pub food and decent Brewpub style brews. Some people love it.
    • At the junction of I91 and I89 you can stop in White River Junction. River Roost Brewing and in the same parking lot is Big Fatty's.
      • Big Fattys has a retail side (crowler pit) and a restaurant side (great tap list with Hill Farmstead/Lawson's/etc.)
      • Trail Break Taps and Tacos is right across the street and has good food and great tap list too.
    • One exit up I89 is the exit for Woodstock, VT. You can stop at Worthy Kitchen and Woodstock Hops and Barley.
      • Worthy Kitchen has great food and tap list.
      • Woodstock H&B is a nice little retail craft beer store.
    • A few more exits up I89 is South Royalton. Worthy Burger. Great taps and food. More just burgers than the more complete menu at WK.
    • Then you get to the Montpelier/Waterbury/Stowe area. Tons of threads describing your options here.
      • My favorites would be Three Penny Taproom and Blackback Pub if you choose to stop around here. Tons of other options too. Great CBC in Waterbury.
