Your plans sound great! There are tons of great breweries in and around Vancouver, nearly 50 in the area now I believe. While you don't need a car for your Vancouver trip, if you rent one you can hit quite a few more great spots outside of the city as well, Four Winds Brewing in Delta for example. If you have a few extra days you could also take the ferry over to Victoria, it's a really nice smaller city with a great beer culture. Enjoy the trip!
