I don't know about you guys, but I've had terrible luck with the taps at Brickhouse. They sometimes taste wrong. Last time I was there, I had a Peach Porch Lounger (New Belgium) that tasted like tomato juice. I also had a "Dragon's Milk" that didn't have any bourbon flavor.

Ale asylum is a great brewery, good family environment, clean, no smoke, a ton of beers on tap and a fantastic brewery tour.

FWIW, Madison is smoke free so unless you seek out a cigar bar (maybe only Maduro at this point?), everything is going to be wonderfully smoke free.

I visited Ale Asylum today...it was awesome. I would go there if you have a chance.

I think Maduro and Drackenberg's are the only two bars in Madison where you can still smoke.

If you go to Ale Asylum, keep an eye out for the Tripel Nova and the Mercy Grand Cru. Both big beers that are good in a bottle but really good on draft.

If you go to ale asylum, no reason to not venture over to karben 4 as well.

I agree, I was there a few months ago and ordered an GLBC Edmund Fitzgerald... it tasted nothing like when it's fresh out of the bottle. Still, when they had Black Note and BCBS one after another on tap, it was spot on, even a bit better. So it's probably the lines on the regular offerings that may need some cleaning/more maintenance.

IIRC, Roast Public House still has KBS on tap.
