I see beermenus has 64oz growler prices listed. Has anyone tried to get a 32oz. swing top growler filled? Will they do that?

FYI - for all you fans of Peekskill Brewery located on the east side of Westchester/Putnam. DeCicco's in Brewster is having a Peekskill Brewery night this Friday 2/15 starting at 5:00 p.m. There's no tap list yet but they usually post something no later than the afternoon before the event.

Thanks, gave them a call. For those interested in knowing they said they would fill swing tops etc.

You're welcome. I thought so since most places will fill a 32 oz. even if they only list 64 oz. - I just didn't want to speak for them.

Went to the DeCicco's event last night. Was a good time.

Really dug the Coffee IPA on cask. VERY coffee forward.

Can't wait to catch up with these guys at TAP this year. It's impossible to state how much we miss Chief and Benz here in Ithaca.

Well, had a short talk with Jeff y'day, just a hello and thanks for everything, really. I can't tell you how happy and at home he looks standing in the brew room he designed at the new Peekskill location.

The first Simple Sour is fantastic BTW, just as adv. by its name, with a hint of bretty funk backing up a super refreshing and just tart enough Sour.

They will only fill 2 32 oz. growlers with the same beer, as the system only recognizes growler fills of 64 oz. on the register. Had to get both my 32 filled with Simple Sour, so sad hahahahaha.

Time to jump start the thread. I see that as of today, the list has 10 house beers and 6 guest taps. Since their house beers are world-class, does anybody have an idea whether they are going to eliminate the guest taps altogether? And by the way, if you haven't been to the new place yet, go ASAP. It's amazing.

I just went yesterday. I was in Connecticut and decided to take the short detour on my way back to Ithaca. I got a quickie tour and tastes of just about everything. I've gotta say that this whole operation seems to be glorious. It's built to be efficient on so many levels: grain coming down from upper floors, beer sparging with the force of gravity, wort piped up to the coolship and back, no need to keg beer for the tap room as lines take it directly to the tap room, bar and growler filler. On top of it, everyone working there seems to be really, really happy, which is a signal that they're building a first class organization.

Of course, it would all be for naught if it weren't for the beer, which is tasting great. I took home growlers of the Amazeballs and Simple Sour, two different styles but similar in how danged drinkable they are. The Pils was tasting great and had some nice complexity developing. IPA with coffee was actually pretty good... curious to see if they'll do it again, as it was sort of a spontaneous development when they created it. Now that they've got a regular line that's establishing, look out for some really amazing one-offs. Lift off is imminent.

I am contemplating a trip up there today for a growler fill or two. I have my eyes on Amazeballs and one the IPAs. How do they fill the growlers? If I get one today and don't open it how long will it last for?

Not sure if you went or not, but the answers are that they have a nice machine filling the growlers and I've had success for well over a week before opening. Have an Amazeballs that I will crack tomorrow for Memorial Day that I got last Saturday. Not worried based on past fills.

Wish I had seen this before going a few weeks back. Got some 750 Hill Farmstead swing tops filled up and they charged my fiancé for 2- 64 oz fills. Needless to see I was a bit pissed, however, there IPA's are damn good, unfortunately not $16 per 750 good. They should fix that or the bartender should have been smart enough to only charge for one growler fill.
