I did make it up there, made the trek from Long Island, first time having their beers. Was going to get two growlers filled, one with Amazeballs and then decide on the other one after tasting some samples. No decision to be made as Amazeballs was out so I got one filled with Shotgun Willy and one with Higher Standard. One of my growlers was swingtop and oddly shaped so they couldn't fill it with the counter pressure machine. The other was a regular one and they filled it in the machine but some beer squirted out so they topped it off from tap.

In hindsight, I have gotten growlers sent to me from across the country from Alpine that were two weeks old and filled from the tap with no tube and they tasted fine. I drank the Shotgun Willy yesterday, it was very good. Saving the Eastern Standard for next weekend, I am sure it will be just fine.

Let me know how that Amazeballs tastes.

I've had it before, but it still tastes great (smells better) after 9 days in a growler.

I've had it 2 weeks after a fill (albeit the pressure fill) and it tasted as good as it did in the brewery. The nose was still there too, which is a HUGE part of that beer.

Good to know, thanks! Going to make another trip up there and try it. I have a growler of Higher Standard that I will pop this weekend, really looking forward to it.

Enjoyed Higher Standard last visit, as well. Too much ABV for me to bring home a growler though as I didn't have drinking plans in the near future other than my wife. We split a growler of Eastern Standard though which is also excellent.

Drinking the Higher Standard now. First impressions remind me of Flower Power. And the finish reminds me of Ruination 10, that stuff wrapped itself around my tongue, love that taste!

drank the Higher Standard yesterday for my first trip to the new brewery. Great service, order the smoked trout sandwich, hold the mayo, thinking it was a filet of trout. Unbeknownst to me, it was like tuna fish so the mayo was needed, the owner came out to talk to me about the need for the mayo, crazy good service and a decent sandwich

Drank most of the growler yesterday, now going back in for the last pint or so. Still tastes good, drop-off is noticeable. Very happy with the two growlers I got from them, I see many more trips to Peekskill this summer. Really looking forward to getting my hands on Amazeballs.

I think I have finally found a New York brewery I can get excited about.

They were at the bluepoint cask fest and stole the show with a hop bomb

the Higher Standard is phenomenal, 92 rating on ba is a serious understatement. The double standard is great, amazeballs is also top notch, midnight toker, and new wagon round out my favorites on tap right now. Some people rave about the simple sour but i'm not crazy about it. Make sure you grab a growler to bring back with you, they have a counter pressure growler filler so they stay fresh for a very long time. As of a day or two ago they were out of PB growlers so bring some with you just in case they didn't get more in yet.

Are they selling bottles or just growlers?

2 - 750s = 50.7 ozs. I also have a couple of HF 750 swingtops but keep them for souvenirs for just that reason.

Definitely just growlers ... Full service restaurant with good food, as well. Bar downstairs (where the growler fills are) plus a restaurant (with another bar) upstairs. Very cool space. Supposedly opening a rooftop bar.

I've sampled 10+ of their beers over 2 visits in the last couple months and everything is good - excellent in my mind even styles that I don't love I could tell were good examples (the Simple Sour, for example). Taken home growlers of the Pils, Amazeballs and Eastern Standard primarily because they are in the style and ABV that my wife will help me drink but the higher ABV beers are worth the take home, as well.

My understanding was that they have zero plans to bottle. They're going to sell their beer on premises and to their accounts in Westchester and in the city. The business plan is strong: make beer so good that people will come and get it.
