Greetings South Atlantic BAs! My wife and I are gearing up for our annual "Drinksgiving" trip over the Thanksgiving holiday. We will be traveling from Central PA (Hershey) through Richmond, VA and down to the Raleigh/Durham area. Just curious if anyone knows of any brew pubs or good craft beer bars that are open on Thanksgiving day/evening. We're debating leaving on Wednesday afternoon, but we're still on the fence because traffic will likely be terrible. Anyway, any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks and cheers!

Tasty Beverage in the Warehouse district at 327 W Davie St is a pretty good craft beer bar that has a good selection and some decent stuff on tap, it's also right next to the "The Pit" which a great place for NC barbecue if you're into it. As far as bars there's the Flying Saucer at 328 W Morgan St. which has a decent selection with like 100 beers on tap and pretty good bar food. There's also Busy Bee Cafe at 225 S Wilmington St. which has a lot of good stuff on tap and their food is pretty good too. If you like whiskey I'd recommend checking out Foundation at 213 Fayetteville St, there are some other decent bars in that area too. Another good bottle shop is Bottle Revolution at 4025 Lake Boone Trail. Hope you enjoy your time here.

    -Cheers

Sorry, we won't be open at Busy Bee or Trophy on Thursday. Not sure of places that will be open but I'll post here if I hear of anywhere!

Just avoid 95 and you'll be fine. Even thought that's the most direct route.

Ill be open at Total Wine in Durham (Ill be working that day as well). I have a decent selection as well as growler fills from the kegs of my choosing:slight_smile:. Honestly its Ill be hoping that the Pumpkin beers blow so I can put back on the Gizmo Double Wasp and Olde Hickory Irish Walker aged on Spanish Cedar.

Truthfully there won't be many options for Thanksgiving day but the day after is historically AWESOME especially if your trying to hunt down BCBS. Places around Durham that would be worth your time if you find yourself in Durham
    Sam's Quik Shop
    Glass Jug
    Sam's Bottle Shop
Avoid Growler Grlz - IMO over priced beer that most likely can be found in bottle form at nearby Sam's Bottle Shop
Chapel Hill has an awesome spot: Beer Study and they will be having a cool little throw down the day after Thanksgiving
Make sure to grab AL of the Wicked Weed bottles you can
