i have family from here in NY heading to California (Fair Oaks then SF) next week and would love for them to snag me any Russian river / Pliny. Being its their vacation I don't feel like making them hunt anything down or necessarily make a trip to the brewery. Any stores / spots welcome. Thanks.

Define the word family. From my standpoint, I'd have my "family" going straight to the source and getting multiple RR offerings, especially that coveted Pliny.

How many bottles of Pliny were you looking for? I can talk to my local shop here and see if he can get me multiple bottles.

Go to the brewery and enjoy the experience there

Whole foods will be one of your best bets. City beer is another place that should have some sort of RR at all times

Whole foods is a great choice. You might want to check on when each store's delivery dates are as they vary.

Whole Foods deliveries are mostly Wed and Thurs, and I believe the new policy is a limit of 2 per customer. The ones in the city are usually sold out by early evening of the day it gets distributed. Good luck.

SF accounts get RRBC deliveries on Wednesdays, usually in the 11am-1pm range. The RRBC website lists all their retail accounts. Whole Foods is a good one and has the least amount of markup.
