Was thinking about making a recipe for a triple IPA. I use Brewers friend to make my recipes. Still pretty new to the concept of making my own recipes, I'm an extract brewer also. Was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to what the typical styles OG FG ABV IBU And SRM are. Any other tips for extract brewing a triple. Thanks!

I've never done this recipe.... And haven't brewed extract in a long while. Here Goes.....

    60%light dme
    30%wheat dme
    10% sugar.
    OG 1.100 +
Yeast- more than you can ever imagine (3 or 4 dry us05 packs should work)
    Srm- not sure.
Hops-Add 1 oz of a bittering hop at 60 minutes. add 6-10 oz's of hops randomly from 10 minutes-end of the boil. (Pick hops that sound cool and definitely Citra)
Chill it as fast as possible.
Rock carboy vigorously or borrow a friends oxygen tank and stone and let her rip for 60-90 seconds.
Dry hop for 5 days with hops of your choice. 6-10 oz. Clean equipment thoroughly before sanitizing with star San. Star San everything. Everything!!!!!

hopefully you can keg this big hoppy som bitch!

Or bottle condition and prepare for dissapointment and tears in your beers.

    Hope this helps.

    Pat.

If you dont have a way to ensure proper fermentation temperatures (mid to low 60's) Do not attempt this beer, it will be a hot mess and a huge waste of money

I'm new also. The end where it says keg or bottle and cry. Are you saying a beer like that won't do well in a bottle?

High gravity beers can be difficult to carbonate in the bottle. Some never do because the yeast crap out on you.

OP, these guys have it covered. Good luck.

Oxidation is really hard on hoppy beers and oxidation is really hard to avoid when you are bottling. With that said, if you are careful when you rack to your bottling bucket, you can bottle DIPAs. But, you really want to drink them ASAP.
