I must try the Gulden Draak. I'm going to try to find it at a local bottle shop that usually has some. It always slips passed me when I'm there. Need to make a list before I go. I too love the Belgian strong ales.

I don't drink Tripels often enough, but I enjoy them whenever I do! La Fin Du Monde is one of my favorites along with Westmalle.

I'll have to try that if it is available in CO. I've seen a few other Destihl beers around. American examples of tripel that are actually worthwhile are few and far between.

When done right, they are very very tasty.

I took a short break from overindulgence in the style but I finally tried Boulevard's Long Strange Tripel and wow! That is a superior offering! It is sooooooooo clean and tasty! I don't know how it slipped past me this long. I still need to try the Weyerbacher Merry Monks. I love the Tripel Karmeliet and Allagash as well. Thanks for your submission, cheers!

Tripels are my second favorite style, right behind quads, for much the same reasons of them striking a perfect balance in a wide variety of flavors. As for my favorites,

    1. La Fin Du Monde
    2. River Horse Tripel Horse
    3. Golden Monkey
    4. Merry Monks
    5. Flying Fish Exit 4

I just had one of those the other day and completely agree, it was a fantastic beer (Long Strange Triple).

Pretty sure Boulevard just stopped making Long Strange Tripel along with Dark Truth Stout and I think another beer. @TheJermis

Love me some Tripels. Pretty much my favorites are all Belgian, St Bernardus, Westmalle, Tripel Karmeliet, De Dolle Dulle Teve, Gouden Carolus, Watou Tripel and Tripel Van De Garre to name a few.

Most American versions in my opinion come off tasting a bit chalky in their attempt to replicate the Belgian beers, however Russian River Damnation and La Fin Du Monde are both pretty darn good.

Correct. Long Strange Tripel and Dark Truth Stout have been retired, but I'm certain there's still some out there on shelves.

You can see our 2017 release calendar here:

I absolutely love Tripels. One of my favorite styles, alongside Saisons, Belgian Pale Ales and Lambics. As for my favorite or favorites, these are Tripel Karmeliet and Westmalle (with many other following suit). Victory's Golden Monkey and Troegs' LaGrave are also very good US examples of the style.

Yeah, really SUCKS! Maybe we can get a petition going. Looks like Boulevard decided to stick with the "Imperial" and funky concoction trend on their release menu. Sad day it is.

me too! chimay white and westmalle tripel. I have had some good ones not limited to these two. I like the pilsner malt in the tripel and the decadent little bit of booze and the sweet fruit. I did not like golden monkey but I did like allgash curieux and a beer called panty peeler as well as fin du monde, st bernardus and troegs la grave.
