I've had and liked that one. I agree - less sweet than an average tripel. If I remember correctly, there was something rich about the malt. Hard to recall.

    Did someone say tripel?

I'll throw another Karmeliet out there, along with Final Absolution from Dragonmead Brewery here in Michigan.

That Final Absolution looks good and it's 10%. It's the first time I've seen it mentioned so I probably would have never found out about it without your post and this thread. I don't know what their distribution is like but I will try to find out, so thanks!
I really like the Maredsous 10 as well. Quite a bit of alcohol bite to that one, but it's still tasty and unique.

That looks tasty; probably a long shot to find in PA but I'm going to try anyway. And it's 11% ABV, that's a big devil.

I had my first one of these the other night and was blown away by how good and light it was. Dangerous!

My favorite style of beer by a long shot! The maltiness, spiciness, high abv, fruitiness, and just overall complexity of these beers is breathtaking. La fin du monde is probably the best beer I've ever had (when considering all qualities). It so perfectly fits into the tripel family but at the same time I can see myself drinking one (or a few) every single day of the year because it's just that good. Karmeliet is another stunner that knocked me out of my socks.
