What did the anniversary look like last year?

Is it a weekend of cool rare/one-offs from them or do they do a proper get down party with guest taps and such?

I don't recall details but think it was some cans and crowlers released on Friday, proximity Project bottles and the a few new things on draft. Not a big party with guest taps and all that I don't think. Maybe they have something bigger planned this year.

    CANS
Into the Black Porter (6% abv) (formerly Liberty or Death)
Our UK inspired house porter returns for the first time ever in cans. Loosely based on a recipe from the mid 1800’s, and to be even more honest, was once called Liberty or Death. Rebranded but brewed the same as ever. Brewed with almost none of the typical roasted malts found in most modern porters, this one heavily showcases the finest Brown and Amber malts Great Britain could produce. Notes of dark roasted fresh coffee, caramel burnt dark sugar, with a dark cacao like full bodied silky feel from our house ale yeast.
    $12 per 4-pack

    Falcon Smash IPA (7% abv)
Our flagship IPA. Dank hop character from dry hop of Falconer's Flight, and a proprietary blend of rotating hop varietals. Fermented with our house ale strain.
    $13 per 4 pack (4x 4 pack limit)

    DRAFT ONLY
Cherry Coconut Rolling Blackouts (10% abv)
Our massively sticky imperial stout gets conditioned on judicious amounts of whole sweet cherries and house toasted coconut. Notes of cherry chocolate like coffee and creamy coconut add an additional layer of depth and complexity to our base imperial stout.
    On for onsite pours only

Out of the Blue (6% abv)
Our Into the Black Porter gets conditioned on toasted coconut and a measured amount of Blanchard's Handshake Blend Coffee. Notes of chocolate, caramelized sugar and roasted nuts with an expressive coconut aroma.
    On for onsite pours only

tbh I don’t know if they even have any cool rare/one-offs. They generally make good beer without any manufactured hype, artificial scarcity, or gimmicky ingredients. That’s how it should be in my opinion, but it doesn’t make for a lot of exciting surprises.

Nothing wrong with that! I was just trying to be as vague as possible to see what it might be like, ya know what I mean. I’ve been lucky enough to visit a number of times and I agree, their foundation is as strong as anyone’s

I just wanted to come on this thread and say how awesome Triple Crossing is. They were not very high on my list prior to my trip to RVA, but they blew me away. Best hops we had that weekend. Dawn Chorus is FIRE!!!

Was excited to see Citra Triangles on tap here in Philly last night. Is Triple Crossing now distributing kegs, or was this just a one-time shipment? Currently on tap at two bars that I know of here. Would be pumped to see them on a regular basis.

Arriving Somewhere But Not Here - Oak fermented with an array of yeast, bacteria and conditioned for longer than you think. We then blended together other like minded barrels and this all forms the base for this fruited sour beer. A serious amount of Petit Manseng grapes, sourced from our good friends at Pollak Vineyards were sent to rest amongst the blended sour beer. After an assured and lengthy refermentation, the blend was left to bottle condition for multiple months. Notes of bright tropical white grape, earthy citrus rind, with an oak like tart dry finish...a partnership of oak and grape intersected by mixed culture fermentation.
500ml bottles available for $14.50 and draft pours at both breweries

    ___________________________
Origins DIPA at 8% ABV - Loosely based on an iconic style pioneered in those densely wooded north eastern states, this DIPA features Simcoe, Centennial, Mosaic, and Amarillo. This particular beer was inspired by what to us always felt like the bone structure of a West Coast DIPA but adorned with various techniques to bolster both yeast and fruit forward hop character. With this comes less emphasis on pure hop bitterness and resin to counterbalance caramel malt sweetness. Origins, constructed of a super simple grist of North American 2 Row and Malted Wheat, was fermented with a carefully selected expressive ale strain to slightly higher levels of both dryness and yeast aromatics that blend seamlessly with hop character from some of our favorite varietals. Impressions of mango, sticky orange zest, tropical melon, slight pine peach that leads into a dryer than typical for us finish.
    $17.50 per 4 pack (1 case limit)

DDH Falcon Smash IPA w/ Mosaic - One of the beautiful parts of brewing Falcon as often as we do is having the ability to slightly alter a small portion of the dry hop with whatever we’re currently feeling or want to experiment with. Enter DDH Falcon with Mosaic. The base Falcon Dry Hop gets doubled down with unabashedly one of our favorites Mosaic for that fuzzy grapefruit citrus pine character.
    $15 per 4 pack (4x - 4 pack limit)

This week's, 3/29, can release. Noon @ Fulton...
    ____________________________________________
Nectar and Knife 8% DIPA - Our first ever DIPA hopped and dry hopped extensively with Simcoe and her daughter Mosaic for that signature bright, grapefruit pulpy zest softness with zero bitterness.
    $17.00 per 4 pack (1 case limit)

DDH Clever Girl 6% IPA - Mosaic and Citra take a front seat on this one with pungent notes of citrus rind, orange and mango due in large part to the massive second dry hop.
    $16.50 per 4 pack (1 case limit)

Precursor Pils 5% ABV - Our keller pils makes its way into cans for the very first time. Pouring a slightly hazy straw color culminating into a thick fluffy head courtesy of a healthy dry hop charge. This beer was pulled from its lagering phase earlier than normal in the Kellerbier style, and offered fresh and unfiltered or fined. As a result, we taste herbal lemon, and a bright earthy hay minerality lending to complete drinkability
    $12 per 4 pack

Far Fields 5% Warehouse Ale | Winter Edition
This beer, born in a warehouse dating back to the 1960’s Fulton Hill neighborhood of Richmond VA, was not brewed in a farmhouse. Rather than attempt to infer any bucolic notions about this simple beer, we felt you should know exactly where this thing came from. This familiar Wallonian style ale begins with a grist of pale, wheat, and a touch of caramel malt. In an effort to coincide with the season, we co-fermented this beer with that most classic yeast strain from a small village not far from the Belgian/French border and a Brett strain derived from a lauded Lambic brewer just outside the city of Brussels. Intentionally fermented open and without any temperature control, this beer was designed to encourage every ounce of fermentation character possible. Lastly, the 750ml bottle you are holding was refermented to an elevated level of carbonation using an additional strain of Brettanomyces found in some of our favorite mixed culture beers, which over time will continue to add depth and character. No need to cellar this one, although it likely would survive it, much like the historic style that helped to inspire us, despite being Far from any Field.
    $12 per bottle

A first just in time for rising temps...
    _______________________________________________

Our first ever Kolsch is set to go
. As with most all pale beer styles, this is one is designed for the approaching warmer weather seasons. Fermented to crispness with a uniquely special hybrid behaving ale and lager-like yeast at colder temps, and then lagered out for multiple weeks as is the custom for anything containing the word lager in an overly wordy description… so we’ve been told. Pouring a super pale Spritzy, lemon like sweet straw herbal hop zest with an unquestionable drinkability.
On for draft pours and crowler fills tonight Downtown. 5% ABV.

Any thoughts on how busy Triple Crossing will be this weekend for the anniversary event? I'll be in Richmond for the race but am staying in the Manchester area near Legend and plan to stop by TC early on Saturday or before we head out on Sunday. Mainly interested in buying to go options, just want to get an estimate of how much time I should set aside

if you are going really for to-go beers then I would suggest going to the Downtown/Foushee location since it's much closer to where you will be staying and probably less hectic. They said whatever remains after Fri will then be available at both locations.

Do yourself a favor and swing by Basic City as well. It's literally a 1 minute walk from Legend. They have been putting out some excellent stuff and the space is very cool. Hop Tropikos 004 which just released a a little over a week ago is probably my favorite they've done of that series to date. Since the weather looks favorable for Saturday then lot for Legend may be full but Basic City as a pretty big lot so you could park there and walk to Legend if you planned to stop by.

Thanks for the help. I do want to try to stop into Basic City. I can’t rememver the exact location of the place we are staying but I’m hoping I’ll be able to walk.

Do you know the walkability of the area (safety, sidewalks, etc)? I live in Baltimore currently so I’m used to urban environments that may or may not be the most safe, ha.

Can't say I'm too familiar with the area other than the short walk from basic City to Legend but I can say there's sidewalks all around. If it's a nice day then the view from Legend's deck has a great skyline view of the city. Basic City also recently completed their deck / patio too but I'm not sure what the view is like. Have not been since it was done. A lot of development going on in the area so I can't imagine you'll be doing too much Frogger action.

If you plan to explore the area there is the Tyler Potterfield Memorial Bridge nearby. It's a pedestrian bridge across the James River that connects to Brown's Island. I've been wanting to check it out myself but last time I was down there it was raining so could not do so. I also hear Belle Isle can get pretty busy with people hanging out on the rock on nice weather weekends.
