Dropped by around 1:15, grabbed full allotment of green dreams and a few 4 packs of PA.

Never had PA before but damn this is just what I was expecting it to be. Very nice.

 

Got there about seven on Friday night and was able to get both. Had some pizza and a few drafts - pizza was great as were the drafts. That stout was awesome!!!

 

After having a few Green Dreams since Friday, I think its one of the best DIPAs I've had brewed in VA, and its up there with the best I've had from Treehouse. It has everything you want in a NE DIPA, and is just insanely drinkable, which is not something I often feel about 8% beers.

 

Got one of those coming in, I look forward to it.

 

Agreed. I haven't had this batch yet, but the Citra & Columbus batch might be THE best DIPA I've had from VA.

 

Hopefully TBC keeps the limits a little lower so they don't sell out Fri night or early Sat. I would think a 2x-3x 4pk/pp would be nice

Here are the cans for next Friday's 5/19 release in Fulton.

Galaxy So Mosaic DIPA - Pungent citrus, peach, mango and passionfruit resonates throughout the aroma and flavors. All of the exotic fruits are prevalent in this delicately soft DIPA. We are shooting for 180 cases.

Waxing Poetic Berliner with Passionfruit and Pink Guava - This undeniably sessionable Berliner includes two of our favorite fruits. We are shooting for 120 cases.

 

The real test will be what happens when they drop Battle Creek in a few weeks. That seems to be the most hyped beer they've released. If they get 180 cases and do another 4pp limit, I bet it'll rival a Veil release in terms of how quickly it'll sell out.

Maybe I'm selfish but I'm with you - I'd love to see more of their DIPAs stick around at least through Saturdays so I welcome lower limits.

 

So I had my first ever beer from TCB...Falcon Smash. Total Wine in Fredericskburg had it at their growler fill station. I loved it. I need to make a trip down there one day.

So my question, do they have Falcon Smash pretty regularly down at the brewery in cans or fill growlers?

 

Nectar and Knife was delicious! Think TCB might have the edge on Veil for Richmond IPAs

 

No cans of Falcon Smash now but I would expect a new batch to come very soon. The last release of them in cans was Apr. 7th and prior to that release it was being canned every 3 weeks. Surprising there has not been another round in the past 5 1/2 weeks.

Fairly certain this is on draft almost all the time. Fulton location will do 64oz Growler fills of it. Downtown does Crowlers.

 

They are great but do not sleep on The Answer either : )

 

When I visited Richmond I didnt, it was great. I guess I was compaing TCB and Veil because they are breweries and can. The Answer was great though.

 

As someone who is making a weekend trip to Richmond from Baltimore this weekend, what are the odds that there will be cans available Saturday afternoon? I can always swing by Friday on the way down...just didn't know if I needed too since we'll be there for a couple hours the next day.

 

I bet Galaxy So Mosaic sells out Fri or early Sunday (really depends on their limits). The last batch of Waxing Poetic (grapefruit) lasted 2 weeks on a 2 case limit so I can see that sticking around. If cans sell out maybe they will do some pre-filled Crowlers at Fulton and fills on demand Downtown. Best bet is to keep a check on the fb page for those updates.

 

Galaxy So Mosaic is gonna be around 180 cases, where as their usual IIPA batches are around 120.

If limits are four 4-packs I think there's a good chance it will last till Saturday. But I read Fulton will be closed Saturday, so any remaining cases will go downtown.

 

Nostradomus! Dead on the $$. I was curious what the limits for Galaxy so Mosaic would be. With how fast their canned IPAs have been selling the last few releases I think 2x-3x pp would be more appropriate but with Fulton being closed on Saturday, along with 60 more cases than usual maybe that will help them last longer at the 4x.

Have people been actually lining up at/before noon recently for these or more or less just a constant trickle in/out?

 

I saw a post of a short line (not Veil length) at open for N&K. It was down the stairs on the patio so basically right to the parking lot. Maybe 20-30 people?

The times I've gone it's always been a bit after that and basically zero line, maybe 10 people or so. Just steady through the afternoon.

 

Not sure which location you were planning to visit, but keep in mind that Fulton is closed this Saturday for an event so all the cans will be at the downtown location.
