A couple releases planned for Friday, 8/25, beginning at Noon.

    DOWNTOWN / FOUSHEE ST
Coconut Night Lands Imperial Stout - 8.5% ABV. Massive round chocolate and smooth caramel notes with a warm finish. The nose is extremely present and that's thanks to the excessive amount of toasted coconut flakes that we dosed this beer with.
**Available in Crowlers and draft only**

    FULTON / HATCHER ST
Falcon Smash - 7% ABV. Our flagship IPA. Dank hop character from double dry hop of Falconer's Flight, Centennial and Columbus. Fermented with house yeast strain
**This is a smaller run of 120 cases** (Limits: TBA)

Surprise Valley Lupulin DIPA cans returning next Friday (Sept 1st) at Fulton. Estimating 250 cases.

Was last released in March and sold out (126 cases) w/ a 2 case limit in about 6 hours. I would assume a 1 case limit this go round.

    FULTON / Hatchers St.
    - Surprise Valley
Lupulin Powder 8% DIPA - Super dank expressive orange and pineapple notes resonate immediately from the aromatics and carry throughout your palate. This beer is extremely soft and tropical from start to finish. We decided to feature Mosaic Lupulin powder on this batch.
We are shooting for 250 cases (1 case limit) at $16.50 per 4 pack.

    DOWNTOWN / Foushee St.

    - Conjoined Triangles of Mosaic IPA 5.5% (DEBUT). This new all mosaic IPA is dry, peach and very nectarine forward. It is pillowy soft and has explosive mosaic notes. This is one of the more expressive beers we have produced for sure.
Crowlers will be available for $11.50 (no limit)

So it seems like Falcon Smash has fully transitioned into a NE IPA. I'm loving this new batch, although its a tiny bit sad that its lost some of its unique character in the process.

Is there some kind of a beef between Triple Crossing and Veil? I find it odd that the two preeminent hop shops in town never take part in each other's festivals, and have never done a collaboration. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I've heard a bartender at TCB talking shit on the Veil and their can release model. Far from official, but it probably reflects the atmosphere over there.

HOw How are their can releases different. At least veil has limits so more people can get them and cans have been lasting longer. I dont understand the TCB/OH case limit model.

Well I was at TCB yesterday, considering that there are still a few cases left to go of Surprise Valley at each location 5 days after release, I'd say they have a pretty good handle on setting limits for their releases. If they were selling out in a matter of hours, then I'd tend to agree that a case is too much.

It's also insane that there were cans left. Easily the best hoppy beer I had all day yesterday among several RVA breweries.

From what I have seen Surprise valley has been the outlier. The lockout series sold out in one day and so have the berliner weisse releases. Regardless dont see much of a difference in their can release model.

The guy was saying that their Friday at noon releases are easier on customers because they don't create a lineup situation.

Harboring resentment over the timing and limits of can releases seems a bit petty, doesn't it?

I'm guessing this won't sell out either session. The ticket price basically locks you in to buying 12 8oz pours for $6.25 each (I'm just using familiar pour sizes for perspectice), which is more beer than I would want to purchase or drink in a 3.5 hour afternoon stretch, and the lineup is solid but nothing worth that kind of commitment.
