Is there any info on the 4th anniversary dipa? I can't seem to find anything other than it will exist and was just curious if there were details floating around I missed.

Along with the can release return of Falcon Smash at both locations tomorrow, Downtown / Foushee is doing a new beer / Crowler & draft release....
    __________________________
Tomorrow Downtown we will be featuring another crusher of an IPA at noon. The debut of
    - Nightmare Canyon
6% IPA. Super soft, delicate and bright oranges are very expressive in this beer with resinous undertones. We featured a new experimental blend of yeasts and Amarillo and Citra for the hopping regimen.

This will be on draft Friday and in Crowler format for $11 (no limit).

Just left the downtown location (shortly after 1 pm). One person working - fulfilling to go orders, pouring drafts, and filling crowlers. When I arrived line was inside, about 15 deep. I waited about 15 minutes and saw maybe 3-4 people get served before I had to bail to get back to work.

    Couple things:

    1. I hope they keep having cans available on release days downtown - I can't make it the whole way to Fulton on a lunch hour.
    2. If they do, I hope they consider adding some staff.
    3. If you're advertising crowlers, I'd think there would be more pre-filled. To be fair, some of the crowler filling I saw may have been other beer besides Nightmare Canyon .... but in that case I'd refer back to #2.

Makes me wish I'd hit Final Gravity instead today. Here's to better luck next time.

The one person staffing was definitely not expected. I don't recall them often releasing fresh cans at Foushee along with a Crowler that was not going to be available at Fulton but they had to have expected a little more turn out Downtown than expected based on that. I give them a pass though since it's one of the first times, in at least a while, they have released both Downtown on a Friday. Just correct it next time. The pre-filled idea is a good one I hope they take into consideration. I showed up around 12:30 and it was about 10 deep and then quickly turned into about 20 a couple minutes after I got in line. Took about 10 minutes to get through since the guy was doing it all (selling cans, filling Crowlers, pouring drafts) . Hopefully a lot of people gave good tips even taking into account the wait time. He definitely was hustling!

I went by at 1:30 on Friday and there were 2-3 people working so maybe some people just showed up late?

Our original hop nectar, Nectar and Knife 8% DIPA, will be making a return this Friday, 4/6 with a fresh look at noon in Fulton. Notes of tropical fruit, pineapple, passionfruit and mango with the hints of resin and pine balance out this beautiful beer.

    Shooting for 250 cases at $16.50 / 4 pk (1 case limit).

This will be the only release this week.

    The Beer/Breweries
    Who is attending?

    29. Triple Crossing Beer
    30. Wren House Brewing Company
    When is last call?
Brewers will be instructed to stop serving beer 10 minutes before the end of each session.

Who will be pouring the beer?
At all of our Juicy Brews festivals, we work to make sure that a representative from the brewery is on hand to pour beer, answer questions, and goof off. Typically, this is the head brewer or founder.

    Which beers will be served?
The beers at the fest are extremely fresh and limited release, so it's hard to predict brewing schedules well in advance. However, we'll release the beer lists in the week leading up to the fest as they become available.

Are the beers the same at both sessions?
Typically, yes. Any differences will be minimal, and pours are up to the discretion of each brewer.

    Will there be enough beer?
We bring enough beer to our festivals that the majority of breweries will be pouring beer for the entire fest. However, due to their popularity, some breweries will kick their kegs before last call, typically within the last 45 minutes. We do our best to avoid this, but we also want to avoid wasting beer.

    Other FAQs
    Is there a map?

Yes. You'll receive a layout of the festival upon entering.

    Will you have merchandise?
Absolutely. Our tasters, tekus, shirts, pins, and stickers are designed by London-based Sam Taylor.

Will I be able to leave my coat/backpack anywhere?
We'll have a complimentary coat check.

How do I apply for media passes?
Send an email to Kenny at [email protected]. Please include the name of your publication or account and your estimated reach.

    The Rules
Please DO NOT open any cans or bottles during the festivals. For legal reasons, they will be confiscated.

It's a beer fest and we want everyone to have a good time, but anyone that's visibly intoxicated and acting like a clown will be asked to leave.

Tickets are non-refundable and subject to applicable taxes and fees, as well as changes. All sales are final, no exceptions!

Looks like there has been a change up on what's being release this weekend for the Anniversary. The 4th Anniversary DIPA has been removed along with the 3 Nightmare Canyon variants. I would assume possibly because they were not satisfied with the end product and did not want to put out something below their standards. Good news looks like a new stout has been added for Sat release. Updated info below.

Good catch @TomCat11 meant to post this here but forgot.

I messaged them about that last week and received this response:

“Unfortunately it won’t be - our initial idea for it turned out not to be possible given the timeline.”

So it seems like it “may” be coming, just not quite yet.

    (draft and crowlers)

    - White Rabbit - Proximity Project Wild Ale - White Rabbit is a golden sour that was inoculated with a mixed culture of brewer’s yeast and native wild microflora from our brewery grounds in Fulton and left to age in oak. There is a nice mix of funk, tart and lemon/peach forward aromatics. It has some delicious smarties candy qualities while throwing off notes of dank oranges. The beer and the wood it lives within, their simplicity and complexity, is at the core of the Proximity Project.

I’ve had falcon smash a while ago and it didn’t seem to be a NEIPA but I know they have redone the formula, is it more New England style now. What about clever girl? Regardless I’ll probably be picking both up this weekend when I am in town just curious.

These two staples are not as juicy as most of their special releases. I am not sure whether they consider them NE IPAs but I consider them borderline. They are definitely more towards NE IPA than West Coast. Regardless they are both great beers. And at $13 a four-pack for Falcon, it is one of the better bargains out there.
