I disagree with this, especially Clever Girl. They're both full-on NE style in my opinion.

Neither one of them are DIPAs, which I know most NEIPAs are these days.

Well, cans sold out quicker than I thought they would....just called both locations & the few cases of Clever Girl they had left are already gone & the FS is apparently just about gone too. If any RVA locals picked up a case yesterday & could spare even a 4pack, let me know. I'll be in town by 1:30. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I've got a couple thank you brews for ya!

Decided to go Friday to Fulton when I got into town instead of waiting til Saturday after I called around 5:30 and they only had 20 cases left of each. Went to downtown location Saturday around ~1230/1 and they sold out when I was there. Clever girl is good but I think will be better in a week. Falcon smash is so smooth.

Showed up to Fulton around 12:30 and missed all of what was left. With only 4 cases I knew my chances were slim.

Interesting that they went with small batches but I guess this was technically an “off” week. At least you can get crowlers.

    - All Neon Like 6% IPA Massive amounts of ripe pineapple and peaches sing strong with this one. Galaxy and Vic Secret help make this beer incredibly delicate and easy on the eye.
We are shooting for 140 cases at $15 per 4 pack (1 case limit)

    - Ivory Tower 8% DIPA Lockout series is back in our sights and is taking the stage with a proprietary hop blend. Ivory Tower is packed with candied tropical fruit and sweet pine notes. A touch of zippy lime zest aromatics are apparent with deep dense hops and pineapple to finish.
We are shooting for 230 cases at $17.50 per 4 pack (1 case limit)

    - Citra Triangles 6% IPA with a fresh look. Soft, dank, yet tropical notes of guava, pungent peaches, oranges and nectarines.

Does anyone know exactly what the Lockout Series is? I know which beers are in it, but I can't tell what makes them different from the rest of their DIPAs.

I looked back at postings to around the time they released/announced the first Lockout (Battle Creek) a couple years ago and could not find any details on the series. I don't need to know the details. I just know just about every one I have had has been extremely good and get excited when Lockout Series releases are announced.

Reference to Halo games, Lockout, Valhalla, Battle Creek and Ivory tower are all multiplayer maps from halo.

Right. I got that. Thought the question was referring to the beer itself and not the names. My assumption is that it's simply an 8% DIPA with various hops profiles using a common yeast strain.

I'm bummed I won't be able to make it up to rva this weekend. This is the best sounding release of IPAs they've done in a while. I love when they have the one-off single IPAs. All Neon Like is probably my favorite IPA so far this year and I missed Citra Triangles.

My bad. Must had misread that. From what I remember Battle Creek is 100% mosaic and Valhalla is 100% citra. Dont remember what Ivory tower is.

You didn't misread. Battle is def mostly if not 100% mosaic and Vahalla is mostly if not 100% citra

Ok so it sounds like Lockout Series is likely a single-hop DIPA series, thanks everyone. That makes sense, I'm not a big fan of single-hop IPAs and I've always found the Lockout beers to be a step below their others for my tastes.

It's not a single hop series, or at least wasn't. Ascension was lockout and it was definitely several different hops listed. Ivory Tower says "proprietary hop blend" which doesn't lend itself to a single.

I think since the rebrand they have done away with most of their single hop brands. All Neon Like used to be 100% galaxy but now is galaxy and Vic secret.

Yeah, pegging what exactly makes the "Lockout" series seems to be a mystery. Yes, the titles are all based on Halo maps. I haven't noticed that they're so different from other TCB dipas to where it seems like they're using a different yeast, or so similar it's the same grain bill each time. I'm thinking it might just be a cool naming lineup but I don't know for sure. Even going back to Blood Gulch it was never a single hop series. FWIW when they dropped Ivory Tower last summer/fall it was one of my favorite TCB dipas I'd had to date.
