I don't think singles are available at either TC or Veil ... however, you can get crowlers at TC (or Answer or Final Gravity) if that helps at all.

Check TC's website day of for availability - they've had cans available for the past two weeks, but that's not a guarantee for this week. Same w/ Veil.

I’m no expert, as this weekend was my first visit. But Veil releases cans Tue and TC on Friday at their Fulton location. At Friday’s TC release they still had cans of Ivory Tower and Liquid Symphony from the previous week. I didn’t get to Veil until Sat afternoon but the cans (IPAs anyway) were gonzo. You might have better luck there on a Thursday. Neither had singles available.

4pks only at both breweries. They don’t sell them in singles at either place. Triple Crossing will do Crowlers of a good number of their beers. Veil is no Crowlers or Growlers. Both update their taplist daily only. Veil on their website and Triple Crossing on Untappd. You can check a couple hours before opening on the day you’re in town and have a good idea what’s going to be available.

Looking at TC's site, with the amount of cans they have leftover from this weekend AND last weekend, I'd say you'll have a good amount of IPA cans to choose from there tomorrow. Last week bucked the trend at Veil. They had been having cans rollover on most brands for 2 weeks or so leading to a constant solid supply. Last week they sold out of pinkferrari on release day and as noted ^^^ cans were gone over the weekend which hasn't happened in a while.

Thanks for he helpful feedback all. Hit the veil (missed last 4pk of dirt nap by 2 mins) and triple crossing (missed last interstellar by half hour) but otherwise had plenty to choose from. Great spots and great beer, and the pizza at TC Fulton was great. Wish I had more time. Hope to come back.

    _____________________________________________
Space Falcon 7% DDH Falcon Smash IPA with Galaxy - The Falcon you know and love gets dry hopped with an exorbitant amount of Australian Galaxy to impart tropical pineapple citrus layered on top of Falcon’s signature dank marmalade orange pine character.
    $15 per 4 pack (4x - 4 pack limit)

    Sight Lines IPA 6% IPA
    - Our West Coast influenced IPA takes shape in this 6% ABV slightly hazy pale yellow pour. Both intentionally and intensively kettle and dry hopped at various points in its life with Simcoe, Citra and Chinook. This beer delivers citrus, tangerine, melon, and a firmly crisp pine like finish. Born out of the need for something dryer and less yeast focused than usual, we’re excited to offer a hoppy beer that branches off into its own territory.
    $14 per 4 pack (1 case limit)

DDH Falcon Smash 7% IPA Featuring Mosaic - One of the beautiful parts of brewing Falcon as often as we do is having the ability to slightly alter a small portion of the dry hop with whatever we’re currently feeling or want to experiment with. Enter DDH Falcon with Mosaic. The base Falcon Dry Hop heavily influenced by Falconers Flight and El Dorado, gets doubled down with Mosaic for that fuzzy grapefruit citrus pine character. This hop is unabashedly one of our favorites, and after offering this beer on draft in both tasting rooms, it’s incredibly nice to be able to finally offer cans of it.
    $15 per 4 pack (4x - 4 pack limit)

Man the DDH Falcon Smash’s have always been awesome and I’m actually really interested in the Sight Lines. I am definitely getting worn down on NEIPAs so that sounds like it could be a good change of pace.

Will be interesting to see how this Falcon Smash release goes, considering the quick sellout of variants last week and the wildcard of the holiday this week. I really wish there was a steady supply of Falcon Smash cans available ... but I'm pretty thankful I can get it on draft around RVA pretty much anytime I want.

Single can release this Friday, 11/30, Noon @ Fulton. A bit different they are just doing 1 can. Wouldn't be surprised if a Crowler of some sort was announced later this week....

Last Broadcast DIPA 8% ABV - Our latest hoppy beer dives deeper into newer and more varied hop combinations. Fortunately, we’ve been able to source several varieties lately than have been historically elusive. With that said enter Last Broadcast, our latest Double India Pale Ale hopped generously with Mosaic, Nelson, Citra and Galaxy. We detect floral green pineapple citrus, deepened candied grapefruit dank, and soft apricot peach character all cohesively pulled together with that softness we seek.
We are shooting for 200 cases at $17.50 per 4 pack (1 case limit)

would you guys expect them to have a release on 12/28?

probably not the best week to release beers, but don't they do it every friday?

They don’t really have a hard set schedule, but its typically every other Friday and occasionally they’ll release something on the off Fridays too.

I don’t really have a guess about the 28th, but if I HAD to guess, I would think they’ll release something just because people drink a lot over the holidays.

A little SURPRISE for tomorrow, 12/31 at both breweries from 12-7PM. 500 - Our cleverly named 500th mash in at our Fulton production site was and is our first time ever sending our purpose built imperial stout to rest in bourbon barrels. Much like everything else we do, a measured and calculated approach to make these beers necessitated us producing only enough to both experiment and evaluate the processes by which these beers come to life…a state of infinite reflection...as it were.

To facilitate that, we are releasing both variants of 500 as a blended barrel aged stout. What this means exactly is that 500 was brewed early in 2017 and then laid to rest in bourbon barrels for extended maturation. We then chose individual barrels that we felt supported each specific adjunct to comprise two separate variant blends. Those barrels were then blended with a smaller portion of recently brewed clean imperial stout. In short, each variant is a singular and focused blend of unique barrel character.

To eliminate any confusion, this is not a 100% bourbon barrel aged beer, this is a blend of both barrel aged AND clean beer woven together with the goal of creating nuance and complexity in beer designed for these current cold weather times.

500 with Vanilla - Notes of candied burnt vanilla bean laced brown sugar ice cream which leads into liquid dark cacao like malt flavors. $10 per can and will be sold as singles and 4-packs. We will have 25 cases at both breweries tomorrow 12/31 at noon.

500 with Coconut - We detect dark chocolate like devils food cake fudge with an unsweetened coconut raw sugary bourbon influenced finish. $10 per can and will be sold as singles and 4-packs. We will have 25 cases at both breweries tomorrow 12/31 at noon.

I’m surprised there isn’t much of a crowd for this, at least not at the downtown location. I haven’t tried the vanilla but the coconut one is really good. Great balance between the base beer, the coconut, and the barrel. All of the flavors are there and none really overshine the others. Well done by TCB, it seems like they’ve been really careful to figure out what they’re doing with barrels/adjuncts before jumping into the ring. I’m looking foward to more like this.

I’m about an hour west but the rain probably kept some people away along with the odd holiday schedule that many of the 9-5 folks did not have today as a day off from work. That along with the $10/can cost was a bit steep. And yes I understand if they were offered in 750s it would only have been about $15-$16/Bottle which is a great deal. Great move offering them in singles as well as max 3 4pks/pp
