Interesting that the first one they tasted and the last one they tasted ended up in the top two spots. I wonder if the drinker gives a little more attention subconsciously to the first and last ones they try.

Really want to try that Notorious. I've really like the Boneyard beers I've had in the past, though I was kind of disappointed with their offerings at gabf last year (my tastebuds were probably ruined at that point though).

I didn't participate in this event, but generally when I do blind tastings with multiple things in front of me I tend to have a sip or two out of each one rather than drink the entire sample in one shot. Beers change as they warm up, so it seems best to try a bit of each beer over the course of the sampling to eliminate bias due to temperature. Plus, trying a little bit of each help to avoid the palate fatigue and subsequent bias that would occur if you drank each glass in order.

That said, I'm not entirely surprised by the results. I didn't have any Safe Word this year, but the most recent batch of Notorious is one of the best I've had in ages and the pFriem Triple IPA was fucking dangerously drinkable.

Interesting results. I've only had the Pliny so far.
