I'm going to be heading down to STL next week, so I wanted to check in on my favorite downstate brewery. Anything cool going on with them? Any particularly good beers available?

They keep their website very up to date. Definitely order online for convenience. You can walk in to pick up or do curbside. Very smooth either way. Worth walking in to pick up to see what the taproom looks like now. Some cool changes that I look forward to enjoying some day soon. If you sort by "New" beers will be listed pretty much by canning date.

Based on what's available in the shop right now, Dory and Indistinguishable from Magic are great. It Ain't Much is also very good. I have a Backpack Full of Bees and ____ Already Did It in my fridge, but haven't drank yet. Not sure what's coming out this week. There's a lot of nice beers available right now- The Way is Shut, Really Dank, Time Enough, etc. Smoke Me Out is a nice, fairly mild smoked porter. A few I haven't had yet. You can do singles too. Have fun!

EDIT: Oh yeah, there's a blended BB aged coffee barleywine available still too. Definitely worth grabbing a can or two.

My buddy sent me one of those as well. Looking forward to popping it this weekend.

In my experience with Tryptych, you can't go wrong with any of their offerings. They seem to do a great job across the board with different styles. It looks like they have a 4 pack of an imperial stout available, I would definitely give that a try!

I can't agree with this more. My $ mostly goes to their hops, then lagers/pilsner, then high gravity stuff when available. Too bad OK Brewer just disappeared from the shop. That's a great beer. In my experience, if it's a style you like, they almost always do it very well.

I placed an online order today because my parents are coming from Central IL to Chicagoland this weekend to see their grandsons and are bringing some tasty Triptych beer for me. Ordering and pickup was a breeze! Looking forward to that barleywine most of all.

Church for Brewers is the release today and should be on your list if you are a WCIPA person.

Picked up Already Did It and Indistinguishable From Magic today at Beer Cellar Geneva. Sounds like they are going to get drops once in a while.

I am. When are they going to add the Portage Park neighborhood of Chicago to their delivery map?

Hit up my local Binny’s this afternoon and it looks like a batch of Indistinguishable From Magic and Church for Brewers has made it to Chicago! Was hoping for a bit more from IFM based on reviews from friends, but really excited for CfB.

Enjoyed the CfB hop profile but felt the abv/booziness pushed it more towards a Midwest IIPA than what I like from a WCIPA. Felt more in the FFF/NvU territory which obviously isn’t a bad thing.

One of the better IPAs from the area in a while for me.

I'm lucky enough to have had Dank Meme many times and it's been consistently good. The last batch I bought was about a month post-canning and the hops were already shot, with overall flavor very dull. Anybody seeing batch problems or does it drop off that fast? The "best by" date is still several weeks away.

Does anyone know if this recent Chicago drop of Triptych IPAs was a one time thing or if we’ll be seeing more?

Not sure on the Chicago drop situation, but if Chip It On the Green (Kolsch) or Loreni (Czech Lager) pop up you'll want to buy those. Also, a hazy collab with Narrow Gauge just dropped today too.
