Does anyone know what the nearest burb is to Chicago that gets cans regularly? I'm trying to figure if I can find some along 57 without having to go all the down to Savoy.

@3xAnthony might be able to help, I think he's...the owner? The brewer? Just putting out the bat signal.

He's both, and probably busy, quietly brewing a variety of excellent beer that's mostly off the radar of shit lords, hype beasts, scantily clad influencers, and juice lords. Which is the way we prefer it.

I think Rudy's in LaSalle might be the farthest north there's regular distro to. That could've changed though. I do know there is no regular distro to the Chicago land area.

There are at least a couple spots in Rockford that regularly get beer. Artalé & Co comes to mind. I also think Woodman's moves through Dank Meme fast enough that at least that is usually fresh there too.

As I've watched more and more Chicago breweries come down here plus more and more of the central Illinois breweries try to make inroads in Chicago, I have to be honest, the possibility of regular Chicago distribution of Triptych is diminishing. There's already a lot of high quality beer in Chicago from all the great places up there, plus high quality beer from Weldwerks, Other Half, etc. And I don't want my beer to sit warm on a shelf next to thousands of other selections somewhere while the subtle nuances and flavor age away.

One of the more enjoyable brewpubs I have ever been to, along with Door County Brewing. Perfect layout inside and every beer I have tried has been great. Sadly, the pandemic means no visits to my nephew at UofI and I have no desire to drive 2.5 hours for a beer

I appreciate the info. I'll definitely call and check in with Rudy's to see if they still get cans. I hope they do because it cuts 30 minutes off the commute each way.

Report back here if you can, I make it out to Peru\La Salle every once in a while. Wouldnt mind picking up some cans if available.

Yeah, definitely give a call. It's been a while since I was told this by a friend. Don't want anyone making a trip on my old advice. That said, Rudy's always seems to have good beer happening.

On the topic of Triptych beer, Ok Brewer (WCIPA) was really good. And their lagers have been getting better and better. Loreni was fantastic.

+1 to Rudy's. Only thing I can add is to call Herman's in Ottawa, they have also had Triptych in the past.

Rudy's in LaSalle is good. I have also purchased Triptych cans at HyVee in Peru, which, in my experience, has a lot more refrigerated craft beer than Rudy's.

For Chicagoland folks I believe Orange and Brew in Downers Grove gets drops occasionally as well

Oops, I did forget Eric and his crew over at Orange & Brew. Occasionally when he is down in our area we'll load him up with beer for his return trip.

I dropped a few cases of beer off at Orange & Brew and Crafted in Mokena. The Way Is Shut and A Wizard Is Never Late.

AJ's Stout is amazing. Hook your downstate friends up with some of Chicago's finest in exchange for a can or two!

Is AJ's stout a silent release? I saw on IG that they were canning it but it never showed up on the webstore.

It was released back on 12/11 I believe. Definitely very public. Sold out in 17 minutes or something like that.

And to @stevegoz point above, it's one of the best straight up BA stouts I had in 2020.

I live about 30 minutes from many of the good breweries in the middle of the state like Triptych and Lil Beaver. Once I get my karma score up I'd be happy to trade some of these fine brews with you all. They're both phenomenal.
