I thought the canned Hop Knife was better than the bottled version (both from 2015) unfortunately Hop Knife is done until next August.

The photo with the new design lead me to believe they were still releasing fresh batches. Oh well.

Yeah, all of the labels are now washed out muted colors. The old Nugget Nectar label was great because it was bold and stood out on the shelves. Especially the cans.

I wish but I highly doubt it, I believe they are moving on to Blizzard of Hops which will be canned as well. My bottles (bottled in August) had the old label and the cans (September) had the new label.

I do like the new Perpetual label much better, the old one was terrible.

I read somewhere that the Solid Sender is a renaming of their Pale Ale. If you look at the year-round offerings on their website this makes sense as the Pale Ale isn't there and the Solid Sender is.

On topic, I'm not fond of the new artwork over the old, but as long as the beer stays delicious I'll continue to give my dollars and visit them on occasion.

Yep, thought the canned version was much better.

Guitar pick icon is kinda cool. Glad to see they kept Sunshine Pils artwork untouched. New logos such as Hopback, Dreamweaver and Perpetual seem kinda lukewarm, definately not reaching out to me. But, the good news is the beer is still damn good, one my mainstays. Maybe cause they are in my backyard and you gotta support the local guys, right? And if you take the growlers to the brewery for a fill, who cares about the labels?

As long as they continue to make quality beer I don't really care about what their bottles or cans look like...I mean look at Bear Republic....their logo, bottle design and website all look like they were created by a 3rd grader in MS Paint...they still make pretty great beer though so I drink it.

Don't hold your breath on the Sunshine art. I think they just haven't gotten to that because it hasn't come around in the new cycle yet.
I don't think the designs are bad, I think they're a little trendy, though. I don't see them standing the test of time. There are timeless designs out there like the Budweiser bow tie, the Coors script and the Sam Adams patriot portrait that have been refreshed and tweaked over time, but still retain the essence of the classic brand. This seems like they're going to need to redesign again in 8-10 years when the "hand drawn hipster aesthetic" fades.

You can always tell the hipster by the beard…or is it the trucker hat…or maybe the sick gages…oh, I don't know.

Chalk me up as another "not impressed". Nothing wrong with them, and I'll continue to purchase plenty of their beer. But Troeg's labels used to have a bold, unique look. Now they just feel like another dull artsy meh presentation.

True, I didn't mean to suggest anyone will take it that the beer has changed, I think I automatically resort to the feeling that people will judge a book by it's cover.

Anyways, I think I like the Troegenattor rebrand the best.

I thought poor nator looked bad...mad elf looks like a child with chickenpox. Or maybe thats just the blurry skewed image?

Agree; he in no way looks "mad." And, given your description, I shudder to think what the naked elf will look like.

Shame...their labels used to be pretty bold and instantly recognizable. Now, looking at the lineup they all look too similar and pretty bland. The artwork isn't bad by any means, but it feels like their going from the more loud and proud attitude that earlier breweries have (see Stone or DFH) to a quainter, more "artisanal" one.

Nothing wrong with updating to keep the brand looking fresh, but it's too big of a jump in my opinion.

Not a fan of the change. Looks like packaging for a small hipsterish bakery or something.

I'm good with the new look. As others have said maybe in another thread, the old NN had the bold in your face KISS or AC/DC font and this looks like granola eating Vermonter (as though there is something wrong with that.) It could be a reflection or realization that the market has matured, no longer primarily twenty somethings castigating anyone with a beard and screaming "hipster" as one would, "burn her she's a witch." And, it could be the Trogners have matured and do see themselves and their products in a more mature, mellow, socially responsible way. If so, the new look accomplishes that (except maybe the Mad Elf, that's just creepy.) I just hope they don't move to Vermont.

Somebody should call Natalie Merchant and tell her Troegs stole her next album cover

Stopped by Troegs today. There is next to nothing left from the old branding. The new image is a 'hop cone'. Really do not like the new images, love the product though.
