I can think of plenty. But, we all like what we like. That’s the great thing about this forum.

Agreed. I've been drinking NN for roughly 20 years now and I've noticed some batch variation over the years. The year they moved to the new brewery in Hershey, the beer was hugely different from previous years (something Troegs seemed to grudgingly admit at the time as I recall).

At least to my palate, there's been ongoing batch variation over the years, though nothing as radical as the batch that was made that first year in Hershey. That being said, I would expect there to be some slight flavor variation from year to year, as that strikes me as normal for an IPA or hoppy amber. Doesn't mean it's a bad beer or that I don't like it still.

IMHO, the entire reason this same thread (or something very much like it) comes out every year is become so many people have such fond memories and feeling about the beer, and they want it to taste the same to them today the way they remember it tasting 10 or 15 years ago. That's probably not realistic, but it's understandable. It also doesn't mean they necessarily feel the current batch has any sort of flaw.

I just picked up a 4 pack of the 5/18 batch and I have to agree it tastes delicious. I’m not picking up much aroma, but flavor wise it’s on point.

I went today to grab more Double NN from a place that had tons just a few days ago, and it was all gone. If anyone has a line on cans in the NEPA area, including Allentown/Easton/Bethlehem, hit me up!

Bottlebox in Norfolk VA has double nn in, 2 cans per person at this point. I want a 4 pack. And hope limit disappears by next week.

Double nugget was eradicated from the shelves before it appeared in pa. First places I tried to find it either had it when it first dropped but they were holding it for call in, or were sold out.

I did end up landing some st a few places in PA with a little more trying.

Strangely though, barely over the PA line at a very busy store in Ohio its been sitting on the shelf for weeks and hasn't moved.

A couple beer stores by me got in Double NN. Live in rural PA, so would bet they both still have it. That’s one good thing about living out here. But, the beer prices are also a little higher.

I think many people are aware that there are differences in hops year to year, but I am not sure everyone is aware of how big a difference that can make. Brewers of course try to minimize this with lots of "hands on" with growers, but the same ground doesn't produce equal product year to year

A notable example was when there was rampant speculation on this site that Flower Power had changed recipes. There were people speculating about what that new recipe must be like to explain the large difference in Flower Power. Chief posted occasionally back then when he was Brewmaster at Ithaca, and he came on to tell us that the recipe was exactly the same, the only thing different was a different year's hops
