I’ll pay that price for a classic for sure.

But NN? No. Xocoveza, Waldos, etc.? Yes.

Edit: doing Dry January. Figure by the time I can drink it, it won’t be worth it. You can laugh, but this is one beer that fades quickly. And for the price, I’m not taking that chance. Too many other great beers out there that are readily available now.

I have a tipping point since there are so many options around. Also, NN has never been an amazing beer to me.

Agree, I’m dry this month and at the cost of NN I pass the last bunch of years. Batch variations are crazy. If you could guarantee a great batch I would go $12.99 once a year but the beer I had 10 years ago does not seem to be the same beer that’s been around the last few years.

    Enjoy

I picked up 12 bottles with bottling dates of December 22nd. So far, this is the best NN that I've had in years.

Maybe I'm fooling myself but I definitely think that this beer varies from year-to-year and batch-to-batch. As far as I am concerned, I got a good batch.

I'll likely not press my luck by picking up any more this year.

12 pack of cans, bb 4/29. Solid beer as always, wouldn’t call this a great batch tho. Much like last year for me, little to no hop aroma. I always enjoy this beer but I’m always left feeling like something is missing.

I’ll have to try a bottle when I get a chance, the cans I bought were solid but nothing great.

Grabbed a 6-pack of bottles today, best by 4/27. $14.00, right next to 4-packs of 16 oz. cans for $15.00.

    Tastes like Nugget Nectar.

This is one beer I just look forward to each year! I hope it hits the Philadelphia/ South Jersey are soon!

I saw it tonight in the Philly area and the pricing was odd:

    - Six bottles: $12.99
    - Four 16 oz cans: $12.99
    - 12 cans: $24.99

Why you would pay the same price for less beer is beyond me (the sign was even transparent with the total ounces and showed the 72 for the bottles and 64 for the cans).

Was thinking about this today. Pretty sure the pricing was like this last year too. Makes no sense that the 4x16 and 6x12 are the same.

    Smells like Nugget Nectar.

Definitely a hop aroma, for those who make note of such things. I've had 2 bottles and they seem like every other fresh Nugget Nectar I've had.

In the example I saw the 4x16 were a dollar more. Even if one prefers cans over bottles I honestly don't know why anyone would pay more for less.

This is actually what I remember from last year, but my memory stinks and the memory seemed ridiculous. Cheers!

I’d pay $14 for Nimble Giant. That beer is nice.

Oof that’s steep. I don’t like paying more than 18 bucks for a 12 pack. I have a feeling I’m going to have to get used to it though..

Firstly, I am 100% with you here.

But it seems that there is a segment of the craft market (e.g., Haze Bros) that demand beer be in 16 ounce cans. It would be 'better' if Troegs priced their four-packs more economically. But if the Haze Bros are willing to pay $12.99 (which is a lower price than they pay for the hoppy beers of Tired Hands, Other Half, etc.) then I suppose that is a smart business decision for Troegs?

    Cheers!

I recently got SN Celebration Ale on clearance at the local grocery for $6/6 pack. It would be tough to turn that down for a $15/6 pack of NN.

I always go bottles with NN. I have tried cans over numerous years and always found them lacking.
