Tröegs Nugget Nectar (secret stash)

I have seen it available in a few places still. Not sure if its left over from the first batch, or the beginning of the second. Either way...It's delicious!

 

In all probability they are cases from the ‘second’ batch of Nugget Nectar. Last week I bought a case at my local beer distributor. The beer was bottled on 3/13/12.

I talked to somebody at the beer distributor and he mentioned that they sold all of the cases from the ‘first’ batch (bottled on 2/14/12) in one day. He received 25 cases. It appears that Nugget Nectar is now in the realm of other hot commodity beers like Hopslam?

I think that the month of two delay in the release combined with smaller shipments produced the current situation. I also attribute the high number of people commenting on off flavors in this years batch either were too hyped up or had Lupulin tollerance shifts.

 

Does anyone know of a place in the Philly area to buy a sixtel or keg? Would love to christen my kegerator with this glorious beverage

 

Try Brewers Outlet in Chestnut Hill or Bell's Beverage on Front St. near Tony Lukes, Bella Vista also may have it.

Nothing personal George (long time no see!), but the fact that we now have "secret" stashes of Nugget Nectar is rather unfortunate. Maybe it's time the n00bs were told that beer is not a hobby but serious business, and that some of us are likely to get upset at having to hunt for Nugget Nectar. I guess it's time to go back to drinking year-round beers for a while. Not being able to find NN in March is pissing me off!

 

It is kind of alarming, but in the long run, isn't this better for beer?

 

I like the rarity! Each rare bottle tastes so much better! I have begun to look at brewing clones of my favorite rare brews. That way I can drink them year-round!

 

This latest batch of NN is not rare in PA. It is everywhere - even Pizzeria Uno has it on tap. I went to the Beer Yard Monday and could barely get through all of their cases.

 

Still available all over NYC as well.

 

Still trying to find a case from the 2dn batch in NJ. Probably hasn't hit yet, haven't seen it anywhere. i'm all out!

 

All the stores near me have pallets worth of the stuff.

 

Really? I have not been able to score a case in the central Bucks/Montgomery county area. Everywhere I've gone since last weekend, they're sold out of the second run.

 

Have not seen second shipment in S. Jersey. Total Wine Cherry Hill told me maybe next week.

 

Same here in N.Jersey. Bottle King in Ramsey originally said this week, now saying next week.

 

Looks like all the North Jersey accounts are getting their 2nd drop this week with their Hunterdon deliveries......can't wait to try the fresh stuff, as i've read that it's better than the february batch.
