I ran into this while out and about yesterday. I may pick one up eventually, as the Weizenbock sounds interesting: Perpetual IPA JavaHead Stout Hop Knife Harvest Ale Weizenbock (#299) When it comes to brewing, yeast is a fickle partner. It's headstrong. A maverick. But a cozy home and a hearty meal go a long way. The freedom of open fermentation snaps our weizen yeast to life, adding notes of candied clove and black pepper to the bready Vienna malt of Scratch Weizenbock. A big brother to DreamWeaver Wheat... why not? http://www.troegs.com/sampler-pack/anthology-fall-sampler/
I'll definitely be looking for this one. Their Fall Sampler usually works well for me and it looks like this year's will be right on the money again. Their Perpetual is one I've enjoyed regularly since it was first released. The Hop Knife is my current favorite among their Hop Season series. The Java Head is drinkable even if not outstanding and I've been wondering what a bit of bottle age might do to or for it. Given how much I enjoy their Dream Weaver, The Hefe definitely sounds interesting to try.
http://www.troegs.com/beer/weizenbock-4/ Sounds like the Weizenbock is pale - only pilsner malt and wheat. I would have loved a nice Dunkenweizen. Would seem more like a Fall beer.
