I'm assuming that the 2nd mention of EBC is a typo, and should read EBU? EBC is typically the European unit of measurement for color, and EBU is for bitterness.

Yeah, I would assume so! The text definitely used EBC though, if I remember correctly. I would be hard pressed to type the wrong thing that many times, but my eyes could have been tricking me.

It's slightly hoppy, like you said though, it's no IPA-like. It's not like Lashes Lager from Jack's Abby, which is listed as a Maibock, but it's ALL IPA.

Very enjoyable beer, lucky to just snag one on the shelf while I was up in Pittsburgh recently.

I cringe every time I see Berliner Weis used on this site.

Speaking of which, have you had the chance to try any U.S.-brewed Berliner Weisse on your current trip? Or, to bring it back to the OP, any Bocks? Any highlights/lowlights so far?

Had neither on this trip. I was somewhere with a Berliner Weisse, but didn't try it. Had a Pliny the Elder that was quite nice. And a really nice homebrewed version of Reid's 1839 IPA. Nugget Nectar was quite nice, too. As was Bell's Two Hearted. Not really had anything horrible. It's all a bit of a blur, to be honest and I haven't been keeping notes. Yards Brawler was pretty decent. Just wish they dared to call it Dark Mild. Though I understand why they don't.
