Yeah, I was wrong on the 12 pack mix. I picked it up today as well as a Perpetual single and a Hop Knife sixer. All super fresh (mid-August) and can't wait to dig in.

I used to live in Maryland and always had Troeg's available. I had a lot of their brews but was never that impressed (even Nugget Nectar). With that being said, I'll re-visit Troeg's and give them another shot now that it is available in NC.

Who's the distributor? Just curious if we will see any Troegs love east of Raleigh

According to the newsletter Cblack85 posted (third post) it will be in Raleigh. No telling how far outside of Raleigh it will go.

Hi guys - Glad to see folks in NC are excited about Tröegs! Our beers are currently being distributed in NC by the following companies: Best of Beers, RH Barringer, RA Jeffreys, Adams, and Harris Beverages. We'll be sending some Mad Elf and Nugget your way as well (November and January, respectively). Cheers!

I had the same opinion when I used to get them in Ohio. I thought they were an above average option but nothing extraordinary...probably won't sway me from locals down here, but may drink a few drafts when I see them.

I think they make solid beers and are consistent. I throughly enjoy Mad Elf and it's my favorite from them. I would definitely grab anything by them on draft. Regardless, I think it's good for NC and good for the people that haven't had much of their beers before.

Had Hop Knife and Perpetual IPA on draft tonight at Good Bottle. Hop Knife is so good! Super fresh hop nose and flavor and not too high on ABV. Perpetual is a bit sweeter but nice beer as well.

Well I'm glad Knee Deep made it to Asheville but it looks like Troeg's is gonna ignore us. Not surprised. What do distributors or breweries (I don't know who makes the call) had against us? Is it because we're up in the mountains? Is it because we're already swimming in local beer? I want an answer goddamnit!

Honestly, its probably the later. Places that already have a very strong local beer scene, especially small towns that have a very strong local beer scene, don't support national brands all that well. Couple that with the fact that Asheville is a fair bit away from most other population centers, and it does make distributing to Asheville a bit more difficult of a call than the big cities, or even places like Hickory or Statesville (just some examples that are close-by to Asheville that have almost the same distribution as Charlotte does).

I'm sippin' the Troegs lineup right now...I'm in the mountains....I'm liked....It's harder to get to Boone than Asheville.....We have the population base of...well....we're really small.....there's only one explanation, my mother was right, I AM super special!:grinning:

Your probably right, but NN isn't worth doing anything dramatic, in my opinion.
