A little off topic of this thread, but I did try the new Dogfish beer Hazy-o, and as gimmicky as that beer sounded it was really good. $10.49 for the six, and it was easily one of the best shelf hazies from a larger brewery that I’ve had

Don’t see much DFH Head here anymore, most places are hammering the local breweries. The margins are better.

I strongly suggest you make sure it is very fresh before buying it.
I have no data to back me up but it seems that the younger craft beer drinkers prefer IPAs that are less bitter, have a notable aspect of "juicy" and a smooth mouthfeel. It would appear that these beer consumers are 'driving' the IPA market here.

    Cheers!

Well that’s sad, and I’ll check dates.

Hard to beat a fresh Pliny. I know it's owned by the evil empire but Wicked Weed makes some solid WCIPAs and almost always fresh. I've always thought Freak of Nature was pretty close to Pliny, Lt Dank and Pernicious are regular purchases for me. I'm sure you've had them before being in NC.

I am just assuming, but thinking it may have been part of their scratch series at some point.

Decided to check untapped as I was writing this. It looks like it is almost a clone of Scratch 425 as far hops and yeast go.

Looked at that page. Appears 421 and 428 also have very similar, if not identical (didn’t look closely), ingredients.

Is anyone else impatiently waiting for Field Study after having Joyous or just me?

Oh dammit. My reading comprehension really let me down.

I went through a 6 of Field Study last year and was glad when the last was gone. Just couldn't get into it at all.

I'd like to try this Joyous IPA but only if I can find a single or on draft somewhere. It doesn't look like something I'd enjoy but there's only one way to tell.
