IMO the bottles are just as good as the cans, no difference that I can tell. Price is cheaper here in VA than I ever saw in PA when I lived there too

I'm originally from PA and at it's best NN is tremendous, I've never found one fresh to be malty unless Had some age to it. IMO this beer ages very poorly for whatever reason. But the word " pop" is an excellent word to describe a NN that's on point. But I've had it some years where there wasn't much pop to it, don't get me wrong it wasn't bad at all. It just didn't explode out of the glass, to me it's hit or miss, we don't get enough here to get several rounds of delivery though, so I can't speak to batch variations in the same brewing cycle.

Not here yet, hopefully before the super bowl next weekend. We had cans last year.

Best by 5/17 cans here, more malty than hoppy, but tastes fantastic, maybe best I’ve had in three years.

Agreed. A nice balance of both.

So this hit S.CT. this week, best by 5/4/18 (27 days old, where this shipment been?) Anyway, this 6pk./cans are MISERABLE. Malt forward and bordering on flat. I could barely muster any head.
    I'm done with Nugget Nectar.

My last bottle from my sixer was just like this, was flat and almost watery. I was able to get at least some head from it and inspected the bottle before and after opening and saw no issues...taste was all malt with just the faintest hop presence.

Same thing with my 5/10 cans, "flat" was the first thing that popped into my head. Disappointing because my first 12 pack (5/3 I think) was outstanding.

You might have missed it but I am not certain in terms of Greensboro. I picked some up @ Sam's Quik Shop in Durham last week. Went in the next day and it was pretty much gone, even though it didn't seem to get much if any touting that it was even available. From what I have seen this year and in years past, it does seem to move fairly quickly around here. Anyway, might want to keep poking around. You never know.

Welcome to the 'world' of Nugget Nectar!

As I posted earlier in this thread:

When Nugget Nectar is 'on' it is a joy to drink.

    When it is 'off' well....:slight_frown:

    Non-cheers to the 'off' batches.

I just purchased some more Nugget Nectar, this time a 12-pack of cans with a 05/09/2018 Best By Date. Here to hoping my Super Bowl is blessed with a delicious batch!

I'm no stranger to this beer's batch variation over the years, but I always still thought the beer was good but just didn't always wow me like some batches did. This time was different though, really bland with no hop presence. Pretty sure that's my last NN purchase this season.

The lack of hop presence is consistent with the 6-pack that I have purchased and discussed in post #64:

"I bought a 6-pack of bottles that has a best by date of 4/25/18. This batch if off: there is little in the way of hop flavor/aroma in these beers."

In the past I have purchased multiple batches of Nugget Nectar but I still have four bottles left of my 6-pack. I can't justify buying more Nugget Nectar until if finish the beers I already have but frankly I have not been too motivated to drink these remaining four bottles.

    Cheers!

Picked up cans best by 5/14. They had bottles and cans 2-3 cases is all there is.

Whoa! If you find it, wait until after Sunday before you drink any. I keep staring at what is my fridge and keep telling myself... "stay away from it. Heck, don't even look at it!!" :scream:
