OK doesn't look like Alex put anything up on Instagram regarding the other 2 new beers. But just stopped in for a few fills and the menu is as follows:

    Splifficated: IPA 7.5%

Sweating Through your Sombraro: Cinnimon, Coffee, Vanilla, Pepper stout 9%

    Witch House: IPA 7%

Orchard Torture: Peach & Apricot Saison 5.8%

Ohh that saison sounds awesome. How was it if you sampled?

I did indeed sample it. Pretty damn good. Huge stone fruit aroma, and plenty of apricot and peach in the flavor as well. Liked it enough to purchase a fill.

Yup, everything I listed in post #241 above they doing fills of. That said, I didn't stop into the bar tonight. There are likely a few more beers on tap that aren't available for growlers. So if you drop by and want a beer it may be worth sticking your head into the tavern as well.

Just came from dinner at Brick Farm and Splifficated IPA, Sweating Through Your Sombrero, Witch House Session IPA and Orchard Torture were all pouring at the bar/dining room.

Had the Witch House and Spliffificated which were both excellent. Well worth the wait for Alex to close up shop for a few days and regroup

Went with my wife and my step mom, who was visiting and had both of those. Splifficated is up there for one of my favorite ipas that Alex has put out. Didn't get the Saison, which I'm bummed about now, but living 15 minutes away will remedy that.

Any beer is a session if you try hard enough.

Drinking a glass of Splifficated right now and it is killer! Happy to see Troon as busy as it was yesterday when I stopped in for fills too!

Witch House was amazing. I love Mosaic hops, and that beer delivered on them. Have a growler of Splifficated in the fridge I'm excited to crack tomorrow after all the praise.

All three beers were world class, in different ways. The saison was the surprise - when it warms you can taste the actual fruits. Witch House is just insane. Splifficated is killer too. Troon is on fire right now.

enjoyed all 3 of the new beers.. got to try sombrero too and it was just as good if not better then mexi brunch (recent batch).. have to say i enjoyed Witch House the most... the rye in the saison wasn't my thing and the carb to me was a bit wonky but with all the fruit that could have been the culprit.. maybe a bit too much fruit.. idk.. it was ok but not the best troon offering i've had. Splifficated was ok too but was a bit muddled and lacked something.. it was a enjoyable to try but i only filled my growler with witch house this time around.

i'll reiterate what others have said about this week's offerings from Troon. While I enjoyed each of the three growlers i picked up, I thought Witch House was the best of the bunch. I enjoyed Spliffication too, but as digdug stated - it lacked something. Sweaty Sombrero (whatever) was a great beverage. I had the cinnamon version once before (i believe), but in this iteration, I thought the pepper taste was *just right* with a nice, subtle heat bubbling up at the end.

A general question for folks - is Alex's approach to constantly utilize new recipes for brewing unique beers unique? Rather than focusing on a core portfolio of a handful of beers and then rounding out the offerings with one-off beers? You think its personal preference to keep things fresh for him? A limitation due to the size of his operation?

I would have asked him this weekend, but there was actually a line on Friday evening that almost snaked around and back out the door!! Go Alex Go!

while their isn't a "core' portfolio i think there is still a "core" approach... let's him twist things different and evolve with each beer instead of just pumping out the same thing time and again.. i enjoy the approach because when i get a chance to visit i'm treated with things i've not had before... even if they are familiar they are different and i can compare/contrast etc.... i especially enjoy when the ipa's don't list the hops so i can play... guess the hops

Alex said Witch House kicked in less than three days and that was a first. He stepped up his production this week to try and keep up. The love is justified for sure.

There was a new beer on called Placebo Effect which (hope I recall correctly) he said was 50% NJ oats that were malted in PA and the hop bill was his largest by weight yet. @ 6.2% maybe Alex would call this an lite session IPA. :grinning: Not surprisingly, it is great.

Should probably see something on Instagram about it tomorrow?

If someone stops in would you mind posting a current offerings list?

I'm guessing Placebo takes the place of Witch House with the other three remaining same as last week but unsure if anything else kicked last night.

Was over there about 2 pm today. And you're correct. It was Placebo, Splifficated, and Orchard Torture.
