I think this a floor. The next phase will be a Kane like crowd that just starts lining up because they know there will be something.

I've heard that the head brewer left? This is all second hand information, so I'm not sure if it's true. I had jersey devil twice recently and it was just flat out bad. Nothing like before. My buddy got a sixtel of the IPA and he couldn't wait to get through it because it was a mess. I used to love both of those beers and they seem to be not as good anymore.

I'd wait and see how this weekend turns out. Last week was the perfect storm of the first run of crowlers and an adjunct-forward beer. If he continues to yield about 300 crowlers per beer and does a strict 2 crowler per beer limit, I don't think they'll get 150+ people every Friday.

maybe for now but people will catch on that in order to get any to go you have to show up on Friday... same like with Kane.. bottles/cans are Saturday at noon.. thus people always there... though with no idea of what will be released the lines shouldn't be crazy ever.. hopefully things last through the night and into Saturday afternoons

brewer left, guess things haven't been quite the same.. idk i haven't had any in a bit myself so can't speak on the product... the model was destined to be that of somebody looking to make a buck... kegs only... really... owned by valenzano.. they aren't small time around NJ they are known

craft beer is now equivalent to a baseball card like commodity with the advance of canning and packaging.

the competition is stiffer so profits need to be higher. there is obviously more money in catering to the trade/resell market than there is the local every weekend market.

its unfortunate but it is what it is.

3 per style limit. 15 people there at open. No huge rush yet. Alex said he’s gonna try to keep the releases quiet-ish.

New Troon post, looks like some oxidation

...what's the average self life of a crowler? I figure these were like growlers and drink in a few days?

I believe the brewer is now at Fishtown Brewpub, opening today in Philly. From an article in Philly Beer Scene--
The brewery side will be run by Steven D’Eva, who most recently served as the brewer at Brotherton Brewery in New Jersey, where he received rave reviews for his rustic IPA’s and farmhouse-style beers

Yes, should be normal growler shelf life. These were purged so they should last a bit longer...think a week. They are obviously doing something else, maybe different kind of equipment where it should last a bit longer in their estimation?

My girlfriend and I drank the second crowler of Pull The Plug last night (a week after buying it) and after the first sip she said that it tasted different from the initial one we had last Friday night.

Anyone know if Alex is still planning to fill growlers of anything tomorrow? Wasn't sure if the whole batch was crowlered. Lol I'd buy them for a buck or two less anyway just in case I got lucky.

Alex is a class act, stopped in on Saturday and he told us about the issue and provided some crowlers on the house, drank them same day on the golf course so they were fine. He mentioned that they filled the crowlers up way high with liquid and as that gun they use fills from the bottom i guess there wasn't much foam so the head space i guess was oxygen.. he mentioned next time putting the lids on with foam and then spinning i guess less oxygen in the crowler that way... something along those lines was the explanation/fix in mind

always a class act... the mental kaleidoscope was very tasty and buffalo chicken empanadas were banging! Hit referend after for some Sanctus... great day

Yeah, wound up with a few free crowlers as well sat. morning. Quite frankly, the beer was excellent. When I stop by this weekend I'm paying for them. As much as I love free beer, I can't take it in good conscience when no harm has been done to me. I'd rather give Alex the money he rightfully earned. Because Bumf and Nothigness were both killer!
