    Maybe the beer wasn't ready

Maybe they brewed that wasn't up to their standards, had to dump it and start over

Or maybe they just wanted to take a week off

Fine. You said they deserved a weekend off. I was replying to that. Really I don’t give a shit whether they release a beer every week or every month. I was just kind of poking fun at the notion that they work too hard there compared to other breweries.

Don't they manually "can" each crowler? I don't think the machine is all that automated like a normal canning line. If it is a more manual process, I can imagine canning/seaming 300+ crowlers takes quite a bit of time.

He's probably just working on some logistics with the larger cold side.

I would like to clarify that I was just goofing around above. I really don’t care if those two guys take a weekend off. Or every weekend for that matter. It is an unusual brewery in the sense that he can just not be open for 2 weeks.

good points, i am sure he knows people want his beer.. maybe he took the late august vacation like the rest of the world..

i can not complain though as it has drastically reduced my commute

Yeah, I've no complaints about not having beer this week from him. It's just unusual because in the past he's at least put an IG post up saying he's not going to open. I'm sure he's just enjoying some time off, a part of me hopes it's because he's prepping a big release.

and hoping it's not something like an illness or other bad delay reason

Lucked into a Conclave/Troon run today. Both places were very chill. Looking forward to the Troon beer - haven’t had one in a long time.

Looks like they didn't sell out yesterday. Anyone recall the last time that might have happened?

Any idea if they'll open up again today to sell the rest or if they'll hold the rest of the next release?

September 30th of last year, if I recall correctly.

He gave the cans to the Tavern to sell last year. Ask there if they have any

Funny how the final beer release of September both this year and last year didn't sell out on the original release date.

based on a post i made last year - there was a release on Nov 2nd that didn't sell out, I apparently was able to get to the tavern at opening on 11-3 to get 3 crowlers.

From a comment Alex made in response to someone, sounds like they're holding the rest of their next release.

    • troonbrewing: @kylekashuda I didn't say we were going to open today, and clearly stated when we closed yesterday, so I'm not sure where your confusion is stemming from. We also aren't sold out, we just don't have enough cans to justify opening without getting lots of angry comments and messages. The remaining amount of this release will be available with our next beer.

I anxiously await the day when LineLyfe® is dead over at Troon. It's dying everywhere else but I miss Troon beers the most.

Well, the 'problem' with the surprise releases at this point is they aren't a surprise. I had like 2 or 3 people message me today letting me know a release was happening. So, I think it's the Tavern tap list giving it away, which is unfortunate if you aren't in those circles.

That's disappointing to hear . . . on the other hand, let me know when you hear!

I'm with you on this. I live close enough to hit them up easily but not willing to deal with the the line. Gotta happen at some point. The next shiny thing has to come along.

Troon line life won't end until they either up their production to meet their insane demand or just start releasing nothing but lagers for 5 months .
