i recently purchased a Tru GDM-33C-PT display cooler. Since there are doors on both sides, I'm worried that I'll hit something if I drill through the sides. Anyone have knowledge about the inside schematics of these coolers and/or advice on how to proceed? I tried returning the unit to the store to exchange for a non pass through model, but I'm not having and luck with that.
Generally there is no lines in the walls of these units. BUT since this is a pass-thru I would think they put the electric and cooling lines in one of the walls. But if they didnt the have to be under one of the door frames. Looks underneath the unit and look where the lines enter the cabinet. I would call True tech service during the week with your model and serial. They should be able to tell you where you can drill.
i have no idea how the unit is set up. we have all seen them a million times but who studies these things? you could always try the rubbing alcohol with cornstarch method. mix up a loose paste, coat the exterior walls. let it run for a while. if there are coils inside the wall they will ghost through the paste. or they are their and it didn't work. then you have a nice brick with a hole in its side. and this wont work for electric lines either. not a lot of help here i realize. good luck!
I just had another thought. Is there a Channel or conduit in one of the interior corners? I think they might run everything up on the interior of the box corner and block off with a matching interior cover.
There is flexible coated conduit at the top on both sides. I'll check underneath and also try and call Tru on Monday. I'll update what I find out. Thanks all
