"Trunk" in a German beer name

    It's just an old word for "Drink".
    "Urtrunk"-"Ancient Drink"

    The "Trunk" that you have read on the German beer label means “drink” in English. Such like give me a drink.
    Sometimes it will be used for German beer out of "Reinheitsgebot" (german purity law) because it is not allowed to write Bier on the label, if it is against the law.
