Lets try this again, first attempt got crickets. I'm considering co-hosting a bottle share at Wine Brew and More in North Olmsted, OH. The owner of the shop has indicated they will provide some food on site for free. The date for the share would be July 21 and would start around 7 pm. I will be bringing a Side Project Noir du Fermier and a Perennial Barrel Aged Vermilion to get things started. Anybody interested?
Cleveland used to have a great bottle share community. A bunch of us used to get together quite frequently in the 2006 - 2012 time frame. At that time, RateBeer was a thriving community (not so much anymore) and we had many organized get togethers with not only Cleveland/Akron locals, but also Columbus, Cincy and MI locals. Hell, a few times people actually flew/drove in from the east coast for some of the larger all weekend events. Many nights of drunken revelry took place in @miketd's postage stamp size apartment. Things slowly started to fizzle out for a variety of reasons. Me personally, I have 2 kids now, so that eats up the majority of my free time. I think others that participated got tired to trying to one up each other with trading, the costs associated with tracking down the rarest bottles, etc., but like I said, it just kinda died a natural death. You may have luck if you try the Cleveland Craft Beer Community on FB. It is an invite only group but I think it is easy to get in, but I don't know because I am not on FB. Good luck!
Yea, I think the most we had in that apartment was around 35 or 40. Good times. I might be interested but a Thursday could be rough.
I'd like to officially throw my hat in the ring, but I won't know for sure until early next week. Hopefully you get some more replies so my late decision won't affect a "go" for this bottle share.
That's cool... the owner is looking for some exposure so late go's are good. WTF let's drink some good beer! Thanks for the reply.
