For some reason my last thread in the beer talk section was deleted so I'll try it here. Anyone who has had the '09, in your opinion,is it that much better then the other BT's? Without going into too much detail, why? Also how can you tell what year it is? Thanks.

Assuming you are talking about trying each fresh. What about with age? Is the '09 just getting better? Will the 2011 be just as good in 3 years? (obviously no way to tell) but just sayin has the '09 held it ground and still just as amazing right now? Should I save my '11 for a few years?

I guess you didn't get a chance to read my old post before it was deleted. The '09 was brewed using 20? different malts whereas the others had less, I believe. Therefore the flavor profile was different and You won't be able to duplicate the '09 by aging the '10 or '11 because they were really different beers, kind of, I think. Hell, I don't know whats why I asked the damn question. Hopefully someone with some more knowledge will chime in.

I see, well I guess I'll age mine for at least another year and give it a shot since I was lucky enough to track down any year!

Does/did the '09 taste like moonshine and unfermented imperial stout aged in diabetes barrels like the '11 did?

I am assuming you are all talking about Black Tuesday? IMO, It would help if you at least mention the Brewery name.

Tried '09 at the barrel party last November. Tasted just like the '10 and '11.

I think the BT is more helpful than the Brewery. That could mean anything.
