Trying to locate glassware

Hi @BelgianFox, I've seen you make several posts here in the Breweriana forum inquiring about these Duvel glasses, plus in the ISO;FT forum, and I also saw a very similar request about Duvel glasses from @BelgianMLB on here, none of which seemed to garner much response. I'd be happy to respond if I could help or if I knew anything at all about these glasses, but I have never seen them nor know anything about them.

I got the impression from one of your previous posts that some of these are only available in the U.S., which makes them hard for you to obtain in Belgium. Are the city-themed glasses released only in those specific cities, or are these collectibles which might be available to the entire U.S. market? Do you have any information about where or how they are released? I looked on the Duvel website and saw they have a Cincinnati glass which apparently was available as a promotional item while Duvel was being marketed there, so I'm guessing the glasses you're searching for were available as specialty collectibles at a certain time and place, but perhaps you can provide more insight.

I've been to Belgium and drank a Duvel or two while there, but Duvel has little to no presence here where I live in the U.S., and I've never seen nor heard of these types of Duvel glasses anywhere here. If you have a link or any insight to how or where they are being sold, then that might be helpful. I wonder whether you might have more success though looking on eBay or somewhere else that specializes in these types of collectibles.

Hi @BelgianFox, thank you for your PM reply. As I said in my PM, I researched these US Duvel glasses a bit online, and this is what I found (I'm sharing it here so others can see as well):

This website ("Duvel Art Glass Series with Show Us Your Type"
https://www.kulturspace.com/duvel-art-glass-series) and the links on it state Duvel produced these four US glasses (New York, Chicago, Miami, and Los Angeles) as part of a promotional 6-month U.S. tour for Duvel Beer in 2019. The company that hosts the website (kulturespace) seems to have organized the contest for designing the four city glasses, but has a disclaimer which states "Unfortunately, the glasses are not for sale. They are premium items that will be used at local establishments in each respective city for marketing purposes. What we can suggest is to follow @kulturspace on Instagram to watch if we announce in the future a sale, however, it's not something on the radar in the immediate future. We have no further information so advise you against contacting us. thank you!" So, it seems these cannot be purchased by the general public in the U.S., but were instead used as promotional items during the Duvel tour in each of those specific four cities last year.

This seems to be reinforced by the information I found about the Duvel Cincinnati glass. This website ("OTR's Taste of Belgium is the Fifth Location in the U.S. to Offer Duvel Beer on Draft" https://www.citybeat.com/food-drink...cation-in-the-us-to-offer-duvel-beer-on-draft) from autumn 2019 states Cincinnati is the fifth location to have Duvel on tap in the U.S., and that correlates with this website ("Duvel Take the Glass Home" https://untappd.com/v/taste-of-belgium-the-banks/5462659/event/397872) advertising a giveaway of a promotional Duvel glass at their restaurant in Cincinnati during the same time period. Incidentally, the Cincinnati Duvel glass is also for sale on the Duvel website selling from Belgium, so my guess is that due to the high demand from Belgium for the original four US city Duvel glasses, they decided to sell the Cincinnati glass on their website in Belgium too.

So, the New York, Chicago, Miami and Los Angeles Duvel glasses were likely given away randomly as promotional items to people who happened to be in those cities and taking part in the promotion when they were having the Duvel tour there. Perhaps they also came as a promotional glass in gift boxes of Duvel Beer as you mentioned. So, we at Beer Advocate can keep an eye out for Duvel gift boxes and second-hand Duvel glasses, but otherwise outside of those four cities, it might be unlikely we'll encounter them, and since I don't live near any of those cities, unfortunately I can't give you any more insight than that.
