I was thinking about stopping in to Tuckahoe Brewing Co. this weekend since I'll be in the area, but it's a little bit out of the way for me. I see they have a listing, but no beers reviewed yet. Has anyone been? Is it worth the detour?
I had their Pilsner on tap at Laguna Beach Bar in Brigantine. It was nice and refreshing after a long hard day at the beach. I wanted to get down there to check them out, but didn't have time. Definitely check their hours before you go. I think the are there Sat noon - 4:00 and Tues 9:00 - noon for tours/tastings/growler fills.
Good to hear that the beer (or at least one of them) is good. I didn't even see a Pilsner listed on their site, so that's cool. I'm a fan of the style. Thanks for the tip about the hours. Had already checked it out and will be more than likely heading there on Sat. afternoon.
I was there on Fathers Day weekend. It's a really small operation and one of the partners was there. Real nice guy, forgot his name, and they had 2 maybe 3 beers pouring. The porter was the best of the bunch and I grabbed a growler fill of it. If you haven't been Cape May Brewing is only about 20 minutes from Tuckahoe and I did them both the same day. Cape May guys were super nice too and I absolutely loved their wheat. If you can work both into your schedule I recommend it. PS both places fill outside growlers do bring some empties with you.
We'll be in WW Crest and was planning on a visit to Cape May Brewing, Tuckahoe was an "if it's worth it I'll head up there" addition to the itinerary. My wife will be glad to hear that their wheat is good! And thanks for the info on foreign growlers. I was planning on bringing, just in case, but appreciate the confirmation.
